quote - ( Hi Barney. Thatcher came into it because football has become a business and I was puzzled as to how members who glorify her and her policies find it abhorrent and unacceptable that a football club could - shock horror - make money and pay silly wages! This apparent discrepancy in standards was something I didn't understand).

Sorry MO but you're still missing the point

The fact is that nearly all Prem clubs don't make money

Even your own beloved Man Utd have debts of about £500 million and that's after a panic stations share issue in the far east

Anyway, it's been done to death now.
It's all about opinion.
It's just that yours is wrong

Thatcher proved on more than one occasion that she hated football she blamed it for all sorts.. :(

I agree that at the top level football is just big business and dislike it immensly...

But at a lower level although football is still a business, it is so much more than that...people who support clubs who play outside of the Premier League will know exactly what I mean, those who support clubs like Moneychester United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and the like won't have a clue what I'm talking about and that, to me is a shame...you are missing out. :)

One thing's for sure. Whether we ever make it to The Premier League or not Mr Murdoch will not be getting a penny out of me.

Can't believe we are off on a cruise at the business end of the season. Going to miss the last 2 matches - though I should be able to know tomorrow's result before we lose mobile coverage...hopefully.

If Town manage to win tomorrow and 2 out of the teams around us DON'T win then we'll be safe for the final (home) game of the season vs Barnsley. If not, it will be a very interesting afternoon...shame I'll be in Rome!

If Leicester beat Watford tonight then 'Ull  are promoted.......Bonjour Hull, enjoy the Premier League.

MoB and ObF

I guess I am a bit hypercritical, complaining about the greedy Premier League and then being a Sky subscriber but I seldom watch the Premier League games but will watch the Championship games and the few Div 1 & 2 matches and I will be able to watch every play-off match live plus Mr Murdoch actually saves me money.

But just for you I will think about getting rid of it.

One small point ...

If you were still at the top of the Championship League like wot you kept telling us you was then you'de be watching Palace ... on SKY ... in the Prem. Now that would be a bit hypercritical

ps ... Leicester haven't beaten Watford yet so Ull  can stay put for now.

Sorry my friend

Must have missed it due to being over worked at the Tivoli who also will be celebrating 20 years of hard work and considered success since it's rescue from demolition

Pop in some time to see us

Best wishes to you and yours

Bruddy Watford!!!

We were Zolacoastered by a bit of inept defending and a wonder strike. A good game even though we lost.

Mob.......................   Good luck!!

Thank you Watford, that win will ensure that Hull have to put in a full shift tomorrow at Barnsley.

Sorry Foxy  :

It seems that it was a very exciting end to end and well contested game but it does save us the trouble of having to beat you in the play-offs

The pressure is now all on Hull, they desperately need three points today ... Barnsley could certainly do us a big favour if the Tigers get the jitters.

ps ... did I happen to mention, OBF, that your goal was offside

GFW, don't tell me you support them as well? It would be quicker to tell us who you don't support!!!

I have a friend who is a Doncaster supporter so I'll be rooting for them this afternoon. Terrible pitch but for his sake, it would be nice to see them promoted back to the Championship.

My father in law is a Tranny!
He has a holiday home in Spain and we thought he was joking when he told us he had had his new kitchen done in Tranmere colours! Looks better than we thought it would!

Mr Zola has another chance at taking the No 2 spot

Maybe Watford's ex Manager will play his five ex Hornets and Cardiff will take a point or three from Hull, meanwhile we will have to beat Leeds ... what an end to the season.

The Hudds look a little safer this evening
