Staysure Travel Insurance

Unread post by Stephen »

Anyone on here used this Staysure Cruise Travel Insurance, and more importantly how was the experience if and when you had to make a claim?

When I was looking for travel insurance earlier this year Staysure came out as "middle of the road" on both price and cover.

In the end I went with LV - not only because of price (a major consideration) but there are a lot of positive experiences about on the Internet.

(LV, for me, came out at around two thirds the price of Staysure for the same level of cover)

Thanks David.

We had our two cruise friends round for dinner last night and we all agreed that we will be going ahead with our Norway cruise in July (all things being equal). So now it's down to travel insurance.

I could upgrade our current Staysure single trip cover to include cruise/Covid19 cover for a very minimal additional fee, including my medical conditions. But as with all policies you only know how good the cover actually is if you have to make a claim. You see all the positive reviews about how easy it was to take out a policy and how helpful so and so was but you hardly ever see reviews from people who have had to claim and their experience. As you say price is a consideration, but more importantly so is the level of cover.

We opted for staysure because with our existing conditions they came out lowest, LV did not offer cover for over 75s.

Someone told me, but I've not checked, that Staysure have some exclusions related to alcohol. Worth checking the t's and c's.

I think they all have some exclusions on alcohol of some kind.
When I had my accident on Azura the doctor told me the insurance ( insure&go ) asked if I’d been drinking.? I hadn’t.

I asked insure &. go later about it, they said they didn’t expect people not to have a drink but would draw the line at being drunk !

Fair comment on their part. I enjoy a drink, but get drunk…….ooooooh no. Too old and sensible for that now.
