Onelife wants to know do you still qualify if you've got a drawbridge?

If you do then I''ll get Mrs S digging.
I’d forget that idea Stephen, it costs a fortune to fill the moat ;) :)

I've had to make a small allowance today as she's suffering with a gum abscess and on strong antibiotics. I'll let it slide this once but she's back cleaning the roof tiles tomorrow come what may.

Good point, noted. I’m hoping it won’t affect my toasted bacon sarni in the morning or questions will be asked in the house.

My pension was paid on the 12th.
I did not get the 3.1% rise.!
Why not.?

The good news is you get paid for 4 weeks after you're dead. Just try spending it!

Boris Johnson said "all guidance was followed completely"

A fine says otherwise.

The holders of the two highest positions in British politics have been found to have broken the law.
No more fence sitting folks.
If the 54 letter threshold is now not reached then I totally despair with politics.
Surely they should both do the noble thing and resign their positions?

Agreed Barney.

I read that Sunak was considering his position at the weekend due to the row over his family's tax position and his Green Card. Today's fine must surely be the final nail in the coffin - there is a likelihood that he will do the decent thing and resign.

But Johnson, the man who made the laws and broke the laws, then lied about it in the House of Commons - the word decency is not on his radar. He will try and cling on my any means necessary.

Misleading the House is a resignation matter. It's simple. he must go.

This is the time for people to open their eyes to what Johnson is - not ignore it and drag up something Blair did 20 years ago or bang on about Captain Hindsight or Boris Bashers.

If he had lied about a military or security issue then fair enough he's out but going to a party or ignoring a minor ruling is hardly a hanging offence whatever the circumstances, well not in my book anyway.

Things far more important imo than being issued with a fixed penalty notice would include the murder of some folks in a New York Subway or of course the ongoing war crimes in the Ukraine ... Boris hatred clearly knows no bounds.

I'm not really bothered either way but the Boris haters, the opposition parties and the left wing media will all be getting themselves into self induced hysteria and will spend the rest of the week running around like headless chickens shouting 'Resign, resign!!'.
There are more important issues to concern me and if he/they go then so be it.
Tbh if I was as wealthy as Sunak I would be saying keep the job, I don't need it and I wouldn't blame him.
I was taught to be cautious

I'm not allowed to mention Blair apparently. Which presumably means lying to get us into an illegal war, kill innocent people, commit war crimes and exacerbate instability we still feel today is trivial compared to a party. So fair enough I won't mention him.

You can mention him but that would be of the same relevance as as Walpoles misdemeanours of 1712

If you really consider comparing the morals of 2022 with 1712, is in any way similar to comparing them wirh 2002, then I have to doubt anything you have ever commented about in the past.
