We were lucky but we have friends who gained a daughter in law who basically wanted to take control of the established family, it didn't work out of course and they eventually divorced. The family predictably stayed solid.

When is a party not a party?

I presume the people involved worked together in an office as a guess of 20-30 people on a daily basis. That was acceptable and they had broken no Covid rules.

Introduce alcohol and a cake to drink a toast to a work colleague and suddenly Covid rules are broken as this work environment is now considered a party. Where are the boundaries crossed?

Looking across social media, the Johnson fanbois are trying to distance themselves from him until they see how this plays out. However if he continues to cling on and infest the PMs office then their low standards will mean they will come crawling back and laud their puppetmaster.

I wonder what diversion he will trot out this time ... the cheap rail tickets doesn't hack it.

The issue is that Johnson made the laws and told us day after day in televised briefings to observe the laws.

But he broke those laws, and instead of holding up his hands and acknowledging this, tried to mislead the public about what he'd done and even misled the House of Commons which is against the Ministerial Code, which is a resigning matter.

Lord Hennessy's comments a few days ago were spot on.

The Tories seem to be trying to focus on the parties ... and there is no doubt that many people, especially those that stuck by the rules, no matter how difficult, are rightly annoyed, especially since Johnson was seen to effectively laugh at them. But to most the parties are of little consequence, it is the continual lies ... another insincere apology for being caught (and still only apologising what he has been caught at) ... by the end of the week it will be yet another insincere apology for the next set of revelations.

He is either stupid enough to belief his own lies or still thinks being a liar is his only way out. He knows just how easily the public can be fooled, it has worked for him several times before and he thinks it is his best strategy now.

Lord Hennessy's comments a few days ago were spot on.

The man deserves another knighthood for those comments .. absolutely spot on.

What about the idea of going to double summer time?

While I hate all this clock changing and consider it unnecessary (we seemed to manage without it for several years when I was a kid), if it helps some people with their energy bills then surely it should be a done deal?

How on earth will double summer time help with peoples energy Bill's. Heating bills are at their lowest in summer, so it's unlikely that many people will have their central heating on anyway, and an hours less lighting is hardly going to dent that cost.
