Free Email Software
Can anyone recommend a good free email client/software.
I had the dreaded blue screen on my PC yesterday and had to reinstall. Unfortunately my usual Live mail software is no longer available so I'm after something similar without any subscription.

Re: Free Email Software
There are several here (second half of the page) https://www.techradar.com/uk/best/best-email-clients
and here https://zapier.com/blog/best-email-clients-windows/
and here https://clean.email/best-free-email-pro ... windows-10
You need to look at them to see how easy they are to set up and use and if they suit your needs.
I have user Firebird on occasions.

Thanks David.
Haven’t heard of Firebird before
If I get much more grief with it it’ll be having a flying lesson

A lot of people I know recommend ThunderBird. It had some issues a while back, but they seem to have been resolved.
Personally I just use online email such as gmail or yahoo.

Thanks Ken.
It’s not so much the software as getting the settings to work, as in getting the bl**dy thing to connect.
I found Live Mail so simple to use and set up but it’s like trying to find hens teeth getting hold of a copy to download.

A PC Doctor will be able to sort that out for you but of course there will be a charge for the service.Stephen wrote: 19 Apr 2022, 12:59Thanks Ken.

Re: Free Email Software
I use Sky mainly because they are my internet provider, I assume all ISPs have a similar e-mail facility, but if I switched ISPs regularly then maybe I would choose G mail.Stephen wrote: 19 Apr 2022, 11:25Can anyone recommend a good free email client/software.

I use a Hotmail address for on line shopping etc and it gets all the spam. I use a Gmail address for friends and family only that gets none.

It can be fiddly, but pick your software and find a 'setup guide' on the net.Stephen wrote: 19 Apr 2022, 12:59Thanks Ken.

That is one of the reasons why I do not use any email client on my PC ... never found a need for one, even for work I just use web based email.

Re: Free Email Software
Personally I would never use GMail, nor Hotmail, as I do not wish my personal emails and data to be accessible by Google and Microsoft respectively nor to be the target for every hacker on the planet.

Live Mail back up and running, at last. Took a bit of doing setting it up again but finally cracked it.
