Bargain. Have you got a venue sorted out for the party? If not there's a place in London I've heard about. Or one in Durham.

Changing topic, isn't it funny how a little war can change minds? It seems a majority of Scots (who expressed a view, not counting don't knows), who previously wanted Trident out of their country now want to keep it. What a surprise. And they want to keep the £ too. Which would bar them from rejoining the EU. Who knows, they'll be wanting to stay in the UK next

Maybe now would be a good time for Boris to allow the SNP another referendum.

Got a little room booked in Westminster for the works meeting. It’s bring a bottle and camera

No, he was busy that day spinning something. I think it was John’O who pulled some strings and arranged a garden party business meeting.

Be careful who you invite.
The last Civil Servant not to get an invite wrote a damning report.
Just saying.

I wish you would stop threatening me there are plenty of Scots who have always wanted to remain part of the UK and have never wanted to be rid of Trident some of you are being very naive. Doesn't matter what the vote out come is for anything they twist it to suit the indepence rallyOnelife wrote: 26 May 2022, 16:57Sturgeon now looks like a fish out of water…like Screwy has said, time to give Sturgeon the referendum she’s been asking for.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 26 May 2022, 12:21Changing topic, isn't it funny how a little war can change minds? We don't personally know anyone with a good word about the nippy one (Sturgeon) Have you seen what has happened with our train service, NHS and education it's a nightmare. Trouble is that the "good for nothings" are plenty and vote for the snp
Also should mention we supported Brexit.

I think we were all assuming that a referendum now would definitely result in another no vote, so we are very much on your side.Happydays wrote: 27 May 2022, 11:57I wish you would stop threatening me there are plenty of Scots who have always wanted to remain part of the UK and have never wanted to be rid of Trident some of you are being very naive. Re: Current Affairs
It’s funny how no one in Scotland voted SNP and no one in England voted Tory
I’ve always maintained that the easiest job in the world is to be an opposition MP.
All you have to do is say what you’d do without ever having to do it.
From a totally neutral perspective, I’d like to see another referendum in Scotland and also one in Northern Ireland.
Make it very clear that this is it.
The result will be honoured and put the subject to bed once and for all.
I’m totally cool with both nations going their own way, should the majority wish it.
I’m certain that if England had a chance to vote on leaving the U.K., it would be a resounding yes.

You may be right Barney, but IMO that is because of the common view in England that none of the other three countries really like us. In sport normally when any of the other home nations are playing against a non UK nation, then I would support them, but unfortunately I dont get the feeling that there would be many of them supporting England in a similar situation.

I’m of the same opinion, although to be a little more controversial I don’t think it’s just the sport thing with the Welsh. I agree with the study carried out by the National tourist board, Visit Wales, when they say that many residents were perceived as 'rude', 'unfriendly', 'positively unwelcoming', 'impolite' and 'quite offensive'

Re: Current Affairs
My apologies if I've offended you. I certainly wasn't having a go at the Scots who are proud citizens of the UK.. And I've not met any personally who support either independence or Mrs Krankie, but there were clearly plenty of them at the previous referendum. I was merely reporting a shift in the opinion polls.Happydays wrote: 27 May 2022, 11:57I wish you would stop threatening me there are plenty of Scots who have always wanted to remain part of the UK and have never wanted to be rid of Trident some of you are being very naive. Re: Current Affairs
Having visited South Wales and Anglesey I can honestly say I have met nothing but politeness and friendliness. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about other areas of Wales where there was a distinct anti English feeling. Needless to say we stopped going there and will never visit again. Happy to take my money elsewhere.
Unfortunately it only takes a few to give a nation a bad name. I'm sure the same happens in England.
