Reviews
Does anybody else get fed up with companies asking for a review of whatever you have bought off them or service provided?
Almost every day there is somebody asking for a review about something. If I think that something deserves a review (or there is something in it for me) then I may consider reviewing it but otherwise forget it.

Re: Reviews
Sometimes I complete them but mostly not. I do do regular reviews for Food Products.
Which reminds me ...
Some time in the middle of May I ordered a frozen pack of Large King Prawns as a back-up for fresh ones. We didn't need to use them and yesterday I received an email from Sainsbugs about a Safety Warning and Product Recall for the ones we had in the freezer.
It advises to take them back to the store. We only use online and the store that supplies us is a 80 mile round trip so it is uneconomical, apart from that I don't have a receipt.
Phoned the Support Line ...
No problem Sir. Could I have the order Number please. No, I don't keep the old ones but you could track it if you wanted to. Please hold. A message then came up asking if I would like to do a review at the end of the call. No thank you. I will contact my Supervisor .... Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Today I would gladly have done the review

Re: Reviews
I don't really mind, they form part of the information we all search for when considering buying things ... reviews on Amazon, Ebay, reviews of resorts, restaurants, tours etc. ... so sometimes it is good to give as well as take ... I am not going to review a can of baked beans though.
If something exceeds my expectations then I will gladly leave a review ... if something does not meet my expectations then I prefer to contact the organization and give them a chance to sort it out. I might then base my review upon their response (so it could still be positive). I appear, however, to have a different judging system to many others ... if something meets expectations then I would award 3 stars but it would take something to go well above expectations before I would consider 5 stars ... whereas in todays society it appears that anything less than 5 stars is considered as derogatory.
It is the reviews and feedback that people give that can (in some cases) help improve services and provide a more friendly and focussed experience for future customers. I remember being flamed several years back (I think it was on this board) for daring to say that I rarely filled in the P&O questionnaire or those little 'how did I do' cards for onboard staff ... I don't even know if they still exist ... but I did write a personal letter about some excellent service we got from an individual on Oceana once and handed it into reception.

Re: Reviews
I don't bother with reviews. I don't think they make the slightest bit of difference to anything.

Re: Reviews
I must admit I get fed up with being asked for reviews of everything that I buy on line. I do sometimes give a review - not asked for - on Ocado products when I do my weekly shop. I find it interesting sometimes to read reviews on various food products, not that I necessarily believe them all, but often people give information about what they might do with a particular product, how they might use it in a recipe for example and that can be interesting. However, being asked to review every little thing, no.
