No, I don’t bother now. I was taking ‘Broncho Stop’ don’t know whether it did any good, tasted horrible.. I was once told by my Doc that Cough medicine was a waste of time and money, paracetamol and lots of fluids.

I reckon it will end up between Sunak and Mordaunt.

This is quite interesting. Sunak, it would appear, is the favourite with the Tory MPs, and the bookmakers, but recent polls of a small percentage of the Tory faithful seem to prefer Mordaunt.

On the one hand you have MPs who work with both of them, have seen them in action on a day to day basis and make a judgment on that whereas the party faithful, who will have the last word, are looking at something else. Will be interesting, if comes down to these two, how it works out.

There is the anti-Rishi campaign being fuelled from the far right of the party, however given how unpopular this government is at the minute, then they have to keep one eye on the next general election. To win that they need to move towards the currently vacant centre ground. Tugendhat would be an obvious candidate for that, but my guess would be that the current tory mindset will not go that far.

While I have generally been a Sunak supporter, I am not sure he is the one to deliver tough policies. At the minute I can barely squeeze a cigarette paper between Sunak and Mordaunt.

Trying to take the party to the right e.g. Truss, will cost them the next election simply because it will be the same failed management structure (I was going to say 'same policies' but they don't really have any). Johnson continually set the bar so low that snails were using it for hurdle practice ... and he still managed to fall short.

When the tories come up with some policies they will need innovative and original thinking ... not the same old geriatric thinking about raising/lowering income tax and allowances. They need a much more holistic approach looking at where the money is and how to free it up into the economy. Johnson was never one for taking tough decisions that may harm his popularity, but a new leader is somehow going to have to take tough and unpopular decisions, but in a way that brings the public along with them. It is doable.

If you have a cough consider asking your doctor if he would prescribe an inhaler ... after I cracked a rib during a very bad coughing bout (2012) my doctor prescribed me one (only for use when I had a cough) and I found it helped.

BTW I found Covonia to work better for me than other pharmacy products. The general advice though is, as screwy says, paracetamol and lots of water (tea, coffee and alcohol do not count ).

As an aside to the Tory contest I heard an interview with Lisa Nandy yesterday. While i don't agree with all.her views I found her coherent, pleasant and engaging. Labour would have a much better chance of future success if they ditched Sir Grey Hindsight and his unpleasant deputy and gave her the job.
