Joy of joys

Unread post by Kendhni »

Oh joy of joys let my joy be unbounded.
The weekly grocery delivery driver has just reversed into my car that was parked outside my house.
It can happen to anyone and I think he was much more upset about it than I was ... I kept telling him 'Don't worry, that is what insurance is for'.

He contacted the insurer, completed all the paperwork and handed me the appropriate slip. Less than 20 minutes later the supermarket insurance was on the phone with me to get more information so that they could arrange a loan car and get my car fixed ... very efficient!

In my day you would have got the isopon out, slop a bit in, a quick run over with wet and dry, and then a couple of cans of duplicor to merge it all back in. Nowadays though they will probably replace and professionally paint the entire front bumper. Ironically my insurance is with the supermarket.

Snap, we still have 3 outers of Branston Baked Beans in the house ... so in the absence of a car I should be able to hover, if required.

They’ll probably right it off. It’s just not worth repairing Reliant Robins anymore Ken :D

Can only be improved with a glass of beer.
Some things like cheese and onion or bacon 🥓 butties with HP sauce are unbeatable.

Weren't they taken over by Mercedes, so presumably can be considered a luxury car.

Agree, that’s my weekend treat. Seedy toasted brown bread, smoked bacon with lashings of brown sauce.

A couple of weeks ago we stopped at a Subway on the A40 and had a bacon 🥓 butty and it was absolutely delicious. I can recommend if that is the standard.

Moby, you're so right about Branston Baked Beans. They taste as Heinz used to taste before they mucked about with the recipe, really good. Not every supermarket sells them. Waitrose does!
