I have to say the insurance have been on the ball ... looks like the car will be going in next week to be repaired.
Ah, but have they said when, if ever, you will get it back? :o :o :o

If he is given a loan car for the duration of repairs then it is in the interest of the body shop to get the repairs carried out asap as they will want their loaner back for other customers.

I have been told 48 hours from receipt, so I expect it before the end of the week.

You might have been told that, but have the repairers been told that - and is that a continuous 48 hours?

If this was a back street Bob type of character I might agree, but the place I have been sent to looks really flash ... and I am sure their prices will match.

To be fair, last time I had to leave a car in it was a couple of days (left it in on the way home from work on Tuesday and picked it up on the way to work on the Friday).

The down side of that visit was that they did not know how to turn my car off ... so for most of the time it had actually been left in a publicly accessible area in an energised state automatically starting and stopping the engine to keep the battery charged ... anyone could have hopped in and driven it away and, as long as they did not push the 'stop' button it would have kept going.

Ah, a garage that know what it's doing, that must be comforting. If 😄

I gave off bucket-fulls to them about it ... at first I thought they had been raking my car since the mpg was down below 10, but then I realised the car had been energised far longer than it should have been (I love all these fancy numbers on dashboards these days). In their defence the chirps my car made to say that it had failed to lock were similar to those a Ford makes when you lock it ... and they were a Ford garage.
