We are desperately in need of rain as much as I'm enjoying the nice weather. My early spuds are all looking well, but the main crop looks to be on their last leg.

Good news. The Eurovision song contest will be held in the UK next year because of the war in Ukraine.

Not that I will be watching it but I thought that Ukraine won the last one which means they cannot host the next one ... ?

I was excited to hear an interview in which someone said Manchester was the ideal venue because it had, among other things, a gay village. I hadn't realised that was a mandatory requirement for international events these days. (I'm still binary by the way).

Good afternoon. It appears that we are hosting it on behalf of Ukraine. It's Ukraine's party not ours. It should be held wherever there is a number of Ukrainians that have settled in the UK.

We've got some.in Leek. There's a function room upstairs at the Red Lion and we have a Premier Inn. Do we qualify?

Close. Probably only about 9900 short but there's a bar downstairs. And the bus station is only a quarter of a mile away. And we have a canal.

There is no 10000 capacity indoor arena in East anglia, so we have no chance. May not be a bad thing, do we really want all that circus in our counties..

I think it would make the contest more homely Merv, go for it.

A lovely Cathedral there, huge inside, loads of statues adorn the outside. If you like that sort of thing, some don't

We walked round it. Would have gone in but it was heaving with people so gave it a miss. Don't think I'd bother getting off at Trondheim again. Bit of a nothing sort of place.

The windows on the hotel next to the port freak you out a bit. They look like they've had an over spray which makes you think they are out of focus. Very strange.

He asked me what you looked like so he could dodge you.

But try standing in the bar shouting "my round" and I bet he'll appear within 10 seconds.

From my memory, there is a bridge not far from the ship near an inner harbor. Just below the bridge is a public bench to take a rest, and it is heated.
Great views to be had from the top of the hill. There's a drink behind the bar should Stephen take the steps to the top. 😂
