Well done England Lionesses…. not much between the two teams but it only takes one fantastic goal to make the difference

After a (fairly) quick mental check I can describe Helen Mirren as an actor. Lionesses…

Re: Football 22/23
I went to Bromley v Tottenham U21's last night. The football wasn't very good (typical friendly) so we ended up in the bar watching the girls. Congratulations to them for a brilliant come back. We weren't the only ones by extra time there were more fans in the bar watching the women that were outside watching the men. Who'd have thought.

Re: Football 22/23
I watched City beat Hull 4-0. We played a team of our reserves, many of whom are on the open to offer list in the first half and something more resembling our first team in the second. Must say some of our reserves played really well and will have done their chances no harm.
I followed that up by switching to the lasses just in time to see the equaliser in the dying minutes and then celebrate a superb winner. Great excitement and well done the Lionesses.

Finished the pre season with a 1-0 away to Southend.
Proper football starts Saturday with away at Wimbledon.
They are very fancied for promotion by many.

We beat QPR 3-0 but I didn't go. I went with my Bromley supporting mate's to Sutton 3 Bromley 2. A really entertaining game for pre season.

A proper competitive match.
Harris said afterward that he treated it as a proper game and wanted the winning habit.
You guys have the Gooners first match.
Rotten luck

Congratulations to our lionesses who did our country proud and gave women’s football a massive boost. The atmosphere during and after the game was phenomenal and I for one really enjoyed the game.

Yes we'll done. I wasn't expecting that. I didn't watch it because I went to watch Bromley v Arsenal U23's. It was 1-1 and again a really good game.

It’s worth a watch Bensham if only for the celebrations after the match….they lasted nearly as long as the match.

After a dodgy start, I thought England played very well and easily deserved the victory.

A very entertaining game. Their goalkeeper did let Sweden down with a couple of, oops, missed it moments.

I'm still not mad keen on ( pseudo) girlie footy ...
Recorded and tracked the goals last night, will do the same tonight for the France vs Germany game but will probably watch the final uninterrupted.

Ditto
Burnley have been stripped of many of their better players since they were relegated so it will be interesting to see how they get on against a more established play off team.

Re: Football 22/23
Hang on there, we have lost our star midfielder and goal scoring fullback to Forest, and the best teenage loan defender in England back to Chelsea,, and our manager walked out on us 3 weeks ago. So we are just as untried as Burnley.Manoverboard wrote: 29 Jul 2022, 12:12Ditto![]()
