Re: Current Affairs
Clearly her health is of great concern. It doesn't look good at all.

Re: Current Affairs
As others have said, it’s not looking good. I wish her well but my gut feeling is the end is a near.
The family have been requested to Balmoral.
Sad news indeed.

If her time has come then I hope they let her go quickly and with dignity and they don't keep her going for ages just for the sake of it.

Re: Current Affairs
Most senior Royals now seem to be on their way to Balmoral, so it's starting to look very serious.

It just feels like we are waiting for the inevitable news.

I do wish her well but her time does seem to have come.
If Harry and MeMeMe don't make it in good time there'll be a backlash, I dare say.

A Queen whose duty to her country is unquestionable.
Pure speculation but her failing mobility has probably brought about a stroke?

Re: Current Affairs
Or maybe she has an underlying health issue which has caused the mobility issues. Or maybe it's all just general wearing out at 96. But I'm not speculating either. It's ironic the media are alternating between speculating and warning about speculation!
MeMeMe not going now. Thank heavens for that. If I was the Queen and unwell she's the last person I'd want to see.
Gill is right about her being a constant in our lives. She's not quite been Monarch for all my life, But she has been for as long as I remember..

MeMeMe isn’t going…….or not invited. Even Harry didn’t travel with the rest of them in the private plane but is making his way up separately.
I do think it’s time they closed the road outside Balmoral to stop people slowing down for a look or to take selfies and photos. No respect some people.

Re: Current Affairs
I hear that MeMeMeghan has not travelled with Harry but may travel at a later date, maybe she doesn't want to have to curtsey to the other Royals, or just hates being upstaged?

Neither is Catherine going to Balmoral…perhaps both are looking after their children?towny44 wrote: 08 Sep 2022, 16:58I hear that MeMeMeghan has not travelled with Harry but may travel at a later date, maybe she doesn't want to have to curtsey to the other Royals, or just hates being upstaged?

Just how poignant was that rainbow over Buckingham Palace at that moment?

Her Majesty served our Country with dedication and dignity, which we can give thanks to. I am proud to have had her rule over us, God save the King.
Don't worry, be happy

Indeed David, what a moment.
I have been fortunate to have two kings and a Queen during my life time, I think we will all miss our wonderful Queen, who has been a part of all our lives for so long.

Re: Current Affairs
It is going to be quite an adjustment as we begin to realise that we no longer have a Queen, especially as we hear the national anthem and no longer ask God to save our gracious Queen.

Re: Current Affairs
A sad day. RIP Your Majesty.
I think I spotted the actual moment the BBC got the announcement. As part of the procedure they get a little advance notice to prepare. They clearly knew something was imminent when they didn't go to other news at 6. And earlier the normally unflappable Clive Myrie decidedly lost his thread.
