Putting it right

Unread post by Kendhni »

I ordered an additional 16GB of memory to give my computer a bit of a boost, from Amazon on Saturday (about 14:00) ... a package was delivered today (Sunday) just before noon ... unfortunately it was not what I had ordered (it was a relay for a car AC unit). I contacted Amazon through chat, got the relevant label, repackaged item up and took it down to the post office (I could have got them to pick it up but I had a couple of cheques to lodge so thought I would eliminate a brace of passerines with a solitary obelisk).

The refund was back in my account before I got home. Item now re-ordered and hopefully will arrive tomorrow (or on Tuesday). A bit of a pain, but overall a minor inconvenience and handled well by Amazon.

I have had similar experiences with Amazon and have had the money back in my account before I had even posted the wrong item back.

in many way ways Amazon have got it right.

They are very good with their refunds. We return either via the post office or Hermes (now under new name) and more often than not the refund notification has been sent before weโ€™ve got home.

Clever this technology.

We recently received some LED bulbs from them ... but not the ones we actually ordered.

Sent a message which requested collection from home. Use the Post Office they advised but the problem is that we Darzet rural folk have Pop Up Post Offices that only open a few hours one day a week. Not a problem, checked out the PO website and it advised a PO that was open 6 days a week in a large village / small town not a million miles from us so off we went. Been shut for two years they said. The Postie had a similar tale of woe cos he can't print the Return Labels using the supplied QR Code ... you need a Post Office he said. Waste of everybody's time says I

ps ... they say I will get my refund when they get their bulbs back but there's no news so far

I think the Sorting Office may, on balance, be a better option

Thank goodness, wouldn't want property prices to be reduced in our area by letting the riff raff in.

And you could perhaps find yourself back in the EU sometime soon as well.

In May we ordered a 6mt x 4mt party tent which arrived damaged 2 days before our party. . Package had split at the end and a roof bar was missing and one bar slightly bent. Immediately contacted Amazon for a return and money back, who then contacted the supplier. Supplier told us to keep it and money back in the account in the hour.
Had to Quickly nip out to the City, to buy another one for the party.
No complaints for service there.

We've had that as well Ray. I guess it's sometimes the cheaper option than to cover the cost of returning.

Nice one Ray.
I was once allowed to keep an item sent in error ... but I needed another USB cable like a needed a hole in the head.

At one time, everything came with cables. In the end you just end up with loads of scart and USB cables in a box, which are now all but redundant.

Moving on a week and I've just been advised that my refund will be paid within the next seven business days, they didn't refund my postage however. A Company to avoid I am thinking
