It appears that Putain's lapdog, Lukashenko, is allowing the commies to assemble an army on the Belarus border with Ukraine. An attack from that direction, along with new weaponry coming in from Iran could cause huge problems for Zelensky.

Since Putain is into annexation, I would suggest that Ukraine temporarily allow Poland to annex those states forming the border between Belarus and Ukraine allowing them to come under legal control of NATO providing a defensive barrier to the north keeping Putain and his lapdog at bay.
You’ve lost me a bit there Ken…Russia would still have access to central Ukraine via Belarus Eastern border … or am I missing something?
I doubt that Poland or NATO would go along with that strategy,. But surely a better strategy would be to use the combined hacking ability of the western nations to cripple Russia's digital infrastructure.
I agree with you that nobody would go for it ... just putting it out there. :)
There is a lot of hacking going on from all sides at the minute. :)
I think there maybe a lot of hollywood style mythology in relation to hacking though (but it is not my speciality).
Our own network security team gave us a briefing back in April/May time to raise awareness ... but so far so good.

If we are to start cutting out waste then I would suggest we start with traditions that cost the country a fortune.
Waste ?

A brief meeting to formally advise this new PM that he is serving his King, a moment for him to cherish I would have thought and especially so given his ethnic background.
That’s one way of looking at it but I wouldn’t be surprised if this morning’s traditional bowing and nodding ceremony will have cost the tax payer not far short of £50k…I personally would have thought this money could have been better used in paying the wages of two student nurses for a year.
If we are ever to get out of this mess, we need to get our priorities right and not waste money on things that could easily be done by phone or email.

£50K would barely cover the costs of 1 student nurse.
Although it is the many many 'smaller' (relatively) amounts of money that the government/public sector seem to sweep under the carpet that do add up to significant amounts that could be used better.

Average NHS Student Nurse yearly pay in the United Kingdom is approximately £25,626, which meets the national average.

Not sure how you arrive at that - maybe knocking the 0 off the end would be nearer the mark. If fact it probably has not cost the country that much as all those involved would be being paid anyway.

I'd agree there. I doubt whether either the King or PM is on piecework or gets paid overtime.

You mock David but she has a wealth of experience and would to my mind make a good foreign secretary.

I’ve upping my initial estimate of £50k up to £100k on the back of just seeing two helicopters hovering of the palace.

Media. Not the public purse. And helicopters don't cost £50k a pair for a couple of hours.

I was thinking more of the overall 'cost' which goes way beyond the salary. One figure I have seen, for that level of salary, is to double the salary to get a truer estimate of actual cost ... which would include employer pension, employer NI contributions, expenses etc. and their proportion of other running costs such as heating, lighting, building space/costs, admin personal, furniture, technology (and consumables), parking allowance, etc. and even the potted plant and artwork in the corridor they walk down every morning.

I thought that was where you were coming from and I agree that the cost of training a nurse is in the price range you have quoted.

The waste that Rishi referred to was in the NHS and you are aiming to add to it ... shame on you ;)

ps ... an employee getting 25K a year costs the employer 50k++ due to the overheads involved
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Agree it was a good speech, however I suspect some are going to get upset when we hear the budget on Monday. It was good to see mentions for the environment and not leaving our debt to our children (our generation does need to take more responsibility), plus the levelling up agenda back on the books.

Let's see who makes the cabinet will he hang on to Hunt, will Mordaunt get a job, will he offer Johnson and Truss jobs as office cleaners?

Tragically I hear Jacob Rees-Mogg has resigned his ministerial post. What a shocker.

With those figures I wouldn’t be surprised if you get a phone call from Rishi this afternoon. Don’t forget to bow when you meet him…Oops! sorry, I got him mixed up with Charlie :)

You could have given me some hope by adding Theresa to your list ;) :)

I thought Gove was doing a good job with levelling up so he is a possibility…although he did say he was going to hang up his boot next year.

I hope he brings Braveman (Home Secretary?) in as I think we need someone who has a leaning to the right to stop this nonsense of illegal immigration.

Penny always makes a splash so she should find a place.

I do however think he needs to bring in some experienced MP’s…two years to change things around is going to take some wise heads as well as young forward thinkers.
