Re: Last One to Post Wins
Great fun today. Trish gave me a voucher for a session on a Boeing 737 simulator last Christmas and we used it this morning.
After missing it completely first time round, at my second attempt I landed on the grass beside the runway on the Isle of Man.
Then I landed at Funchal in Madeira, missing the runway a little and taking out all the planes waiting on the apron.
Apart from those little glitches it went well.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Funny enough I was looking at the same thing the other day Merv.
They were advertising on Face cloth simulator experiences at Stansted. I was tempted to drop a hint to Mrs S for Christmas but we’ve decided we are not bothering with presents and Christmas this year. Just not interested.
The thing is, I use to fly these aircraft on my home simulator software, and if I say so my self I was quite good. This was up until around a year ago when my PC decided to crash and I had to reinstall. I had so much simulator software I couldn’t be bothered to reinstall it plus I’d lost interest if I’m honest. If I still had the home set up to practice on I may have given the simulator a go having some experience to get the full benefit from it.
But I’m sure it was still great fun.

Keep to spinning the vinyl Merv.
Just a note pushing one's chest out, I can say I've actually taken off and landed an aircraft successfully on the tarmac without taken out infrastructure or other aircraft thank you very much.
OK, it was a Piper Cherokee and like Merv it was a pressy from the good lady. But you do get a real buzz especially as we were flying in RAF Marham air controlled space and had to let them tell us were we could go, great experience.

If I'd landed a real Cherokee like I landed my simulated 737 Ray I wouldn't be here to talk about it

Talking of freezing. You’ll need your woolly vest this Thursday.
Winter has arrived.

That sounds painful, maybe you could obtain a Damart brochure and get some thermals.
As Stephen says, you may need them this week.
Tried all day heating (morning till bedtime) With CH starting the day then the underfloor taking over in the conservatory and back to CH for the evening. I will return to managing the comfort level manually £8 a day, the try out cost me £12.
May have to have a chat with Stephen on his fuel saving methods.

I blame the recent thick fogs we have been having on the spread of these wicked log burners.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Just a bit of info about eco log burners, of which ours is one. Ok, they may not be 100% clean but they are certainly allot better than an open fire or some huge factory chimney that pumps smoke 24hrs a day.
I only burn quality dry logs on ours so I would say emissions are very low.

Not blaming you yourself Stephen, but the encouragement by companies to encourage the take up wood burning appliances is a backwards step in the race to bring down pollution in the atmosphere. It does mean trees are being sourced today to fuel this increasing demand, these take years to grow and sustainability may come into play.
I was really looking for your help in how to get free gas and electricity, if you get my drift.

Mr Google tells me that wood burning is now the number one source of particulate pollution in the atmosphere in the UK, well ahead of traffic pollution.

Our logs are kiln dried and contain less than 20% water resulting in a clean burning fire .... unlike those who forage their logs and / or drive stinky diesel buses and lorries.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being
