We've had...

Unread post by Onelife »

... our first few flakes of snow in lovely Shropshire this afternoon…I could probably have counted them using fingers from both hands but snow nevertheless.

Whilst I don’t particularly like snow it does herald in a new phase of the winter.

Any snow where you are?

About as many flakes as you. After -7C yesterday morning today was a balmy -1C.

It’s not looking good for us overnight tonight from 2am.

Heavy snow forecast.

We had a light covering yesterday - enough for some poor young chap who did not know how to drive an automatic in the snow to get stuck down our cul-de-sac.

After about 20 minutes of entertainment I relented and lent him a spade

Nothing up here in the Costa del Cumbria. They might have had something on the fells but we just have a heavy frost at the moment and it's perishing cold. :(
Looking forward to moving in to Merv's house once he leaves.

Mrs B couldn’t get to her shop yesterday because of snow. It’s very hilly towards Torrington and it’s geographically high.
She took the day off.
We actually live right on the coast and it’s fine.

I’ve just been into Ludlow and they’ve had a lot more snow than what we have just 4 miles down the road.

Don't expect too much. I've had the gas and lecky cut off to deter squatters.

Well no surprise there. Good old BBC met office weather forecasting unreliable as ever with their heavy no show snow over night.

The wellies can go back in the shed now they’re not needed.

Currently at East Mids airport where it is cold and foggy but dry and operating. Glad not to be at a London airport today.

In South Bedfordshire we've got 5 or 6 inches, so the forecast was right for us

No snow here in North Devon but I would like to know what the nighttime temperature dropped to?
My pond with fall is frozen so I went to go outside to turn the pump off.
The big sliding doors were frozen shut so I went to the boot room door on the side which was also frozen.
The side gate is padlocked from the inside so there is no way of sorting it.
Hopefully thaw out as the day proceeds.
Such problems to have 😉

I'm very near Bath. They had a covering of snow yesterday before we arrived so it's white and pretty, looking from my hotel window. Other than that no snow overnight and no snow in the Southampton area either. My niece in London, Pimlico has had quite a bit of snow going by the picture she sent her mother.

Here in Norfolk where the sun always shines its wall to wall blue sky's and not a hint of cloud, the sun is lovely, mind you it was bitterly cold over the weekend - 8c in places

Just cold and frosty here in lovely Shropshire but still relying on candles to keep warm. Our log burner has developed a leak which set off the fire alarm a few days ago so I’ve got a new one on order for Thursday… with a fitter on standby for whenever he can fit us in…in the meantime blankets, gloves and water bottles would be appreciated, please forward the usual address, thank you.
