Several statements in the Oprah programme have been shown clearly to be untrue. They are therefore known liars. So why would I trust one thing they said now? Yes I wish them a happy family Christmas. But please shut up and enjoy it quietly and privately.

I would be only too happy to put my hands up and say I was wrong but already it's too late. They were ultimately shown to have lied in the Winfrey interview and in subsequent 'revelations'. How do we now know whether they are telling the truth or not? We don't.
Personally I wouldn't trust anything they say but cynically it keeps the dollars rolling in and funds their 'private' lifestyle out of the media gaze. :lolno:

I wonder if they will attend Charles' coronation and then go back to the States and deliver another attack. :o If they really believe what they say they would be better staying at home.

I must say I do admire your faith OL but they really don't deserve it. I would feel guilty picking up my winnings from you, although a couple of dozen eggs wouldn't be a bad compromise.

Absolutely. When the Archbishop of Canterbury questioned the veracity of one of their claims, case rested as far as I'm concerned. I can't think of a single one of their 'truths' that stood up to scrutiny, though I expect one or two minor ones did. There have even been Guardian articles critical of the pair of them and the somewhat 'woke' Jacinda Ardern appears to be hastily distancing herself.

It is not just the right wing press that is questioning their honesty.

Indeed, there have Sir Merv…the most telling of these were the ones that her own father and those of her half-sister put out, which have been shown to be totally untrue ….it can also be said that many of the tabloid garbage originated out of these nasty malicious lies.

I’ll pass on your good wishes to them :)

Haha. Now you know very well the lies I refer to are the ones from their own lips.

Hi annice...I read the article and I would hardly call it "hastily distancing herself", more of falling in line with UK/New Zealand Royal protocol was my impression. But your opinion is as valid as mine so we’ll beg to differ on that one.

I for one couldn’t give a flying f*** about the rights and wrongs, truth or lies about 2 very wealthy families, one of whom is airing its dirty laundry in public. I along with most others have no real idea of what is ‘ true ‘, personally I think it’s time to finish this.

I agree with you Screwy, especially now that I can detect a softening of attitudes towards Harry and Meghan. :)

What we think to be the truth can be far more damaging than what we know to be the truth, so with this in mind I shall leave this topic in the knowledge that I have left doubt in the minds of those who will i hope see that the perception of truth lies in the hands of those who wish to control the truth...e.g. the media.

I shall now drift off into those yonder Shropshire hills and contemplate how I can bring down the Monarchy....with or without Harry and Meghan's help.

It would seem an appropriate name as I’m bound to cause fireworks on this topic of discussion

Thinking about it, in another 190 posts you can all call me Captain  :D

they felt they needed to start a new life in a different country
But, according to last week's episodes, Harry was talking about moving abroad before Meghan was even on the scene.
Onelife wrote: 21 Dec 2022, 14:02
You seem to have a thing about the money they have made out of these press intrusions, which it has to be said wouldn’t have happened had it not been for the press using Meghan as a kicking post to sell these malicious stories,
So how else were they planning to finance their lifestyle? Again according to Harry it cost him most of his mother's inheritance to move out to California.
Onelife wrote: 21 Dec 2022, 14:02
I feel sure that I would be willing to put more money on Harry and Meghan’s version of the truth
I would agree with that - when we actually know what the truth is. All we have been presented with so far is one side of the story with no substantiated evidence - just "sound bites"
I didn't know that David...his time in the Royal family must have been worse than I first thought :)

Harry and Meghan are doing another Netflix program due out on the 10th Jan so one must presume the previous Netflix series has opened up many more opportunities to make a living.

If we don’t know what the truth is then how can others on this forum not defend the innocence behind what is at best unsubstantiated garbage that the media have put out???

We’ve all seen one side of the story so they have every right to defend their side of the story, with or without Royal approval. Imo.
The rest of the Royals have managed to weather all the unsubstantiated garbage and flack that the media have thrown at them over the years, without buckling and running for the hills of California. Perhaps if Harry had displayed a fraction of the backbone his brother and father have, then he could also have learned how to live with the media, and not break under the strain.j

Don't tell anyone but I heard she has been offered a new celebrity job, cleaning out Keefie's chickens. They're making a new Netflix series about it.

I’m sure the proud fighting battalions of the Grenadiers Guards will be delighted to hear the news that their new “Colonel” is no other than ----, Camilla.

This Monarchy thingy gets more farcical with every passing day.

Looking forward to reading Meghan’s ex-husband's memoirs. Now that will make for an interesting read. I wonder if Netflix are interested. He didn't last long with her did he?

Which begs the question, how highly do you rate Charlie and Camilla’s moral compass in destroying a young women’s life all for an heir to the throne?
