Happy New Year
The New Year looks like it’s going to be a good year as I had £20 on at 10/1 winner today… it returned 15/2 …My daughter had £5 on it, my wife a £1
I was especially pleased because my enjoyment comes from studying the form, in the hope that I can find one that runs under the radar
(n touch with leaders, 5 lengths third and pushed along 4 out, went second and ridden 3 out, led last, idled run-in, stayed on and always doing enough (trainer said, regarding the apparent improvement in form, gelding had improved from its first run of the season)
…
The horse “Grumpy Charley” opened up at !6/1 last night but as I don’t back online (Other than when I did through covid) I had to wait until this morning to get my money on.
Here’s wishing you good luck in what I hope will be a very Happy New Year for you all.

I will add my happy new year to you all and a better year ahead, it couldn't get any worse than last year.
Or could it.

Re: Happy New Year
So who actually saw the new year in?
We didn't and hardly ever do. However, I did wake up about 11.45 and got up for a mooch about and heard the first of the fireworks go off at midnight in the distance. All over by 12.30.

Re: Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone! I watched the London fireworks last night, enjoyed the display, not so keen on some of the music but that's probably because of my age! So many people ill over the New Year, my plans were cancelled as my daughter has this horrible cold virus that's going around and my brother in law has Covid. I'm fine, enjoyed a glass or two of fizz last night.
Let's hope for a healthy New Year for us all.

Hi Carole… both my sister and BIL are laid up with what appears to be a very nasty flu virus…my wife was saying she read a report saying Birmingham Hospitals were overflowing with flu patients…. I took the precaution of wearing my face mask this morning before entering the bookies and will do again in any enclosed spaces.CaroleF wrote: 01 Jan 2023, 12:06Happy New Year everyone! Re: Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you all - let’s hope it will be healthy and happy and peaceful. I returned from my son’s mid week - just about recovered from the journey - hate M5/M6
so had a quiet evening.
I enjoyed Jools Holland’s show - not so keen on BBC1 with Sam Ryder the Eurovision guy - I think it’s time to admit it’s an age thing
My son FaceTimed me from a party after midnight - couldn’t hear a word they had the music so loud.
I’m not waiting for 12th night - the tree and decorations are being taken down today!

Re: Happy New Year
We enjoyed The Hootananny with a bottle of decent Champers.
Actually went to bed about half one.
Up to the shop today to remove the Xmas window and other Xmas bits and bobs.
Five days to Azura
