On the subject of Harry and Meghan ear wax

Such-a-body has fed their ears with olive oil for a week and now has to have them syringed.

Pre Covid a nurse at the local surgery would have done them but not any more. Taking the Private route prices range from £40 to £90 a pair but such-a-body hasn't got any money so goes to A&E

If that is not an option what do they do ?

Asking for a friend

Me too.

But don't worry OL has ordered 1.5 million to donate to Oxfam shops.
Funny you should mention 'Oxfam shops' because I was in one Saturday and bought a copy entitled the ā€œThe rise and fall of the Monarchyā€ I offered them 50p but the assistant said I could have it for free because there was an ever-increasing number of people not no interested in that kind of stuff anymore.

Not for quite a while pre Covid was that the case. You can still have them done at the GP surgery but it has to be referred by an audiologist - you cannot just ask.

Your friend needs to persevere with his GP surgery, if he can get past Gladys the gladiator on reception, then the medical professionals are much more sympathetic. I had my ears syringed at my GPs just over 12 months ago.

Hi Mob, not something I would advise but as its only a friend you’re asking for I remember my mother doing a diy job on my sister…after using ear wax softener for about a week she would get one of those kitchen utensils things that have a tube with a rubber suction thing on the end…method…suck up some warm water and then place tube close to ear then gently squeeze, so as not to push the wax through to the other ear…it worked for my sister.

Tell your friend if he would rather spend three hours driving up to Shropshire, I’ll do it for 'you'…. it’s got to be better than spending ten hours in A&E only then to be told you’re a bloody whimp… get out of here.

I’m presuming when referring to ā€œtheyā€ you mean Penguin books
Obviously - unless H&M are going to have a stall on the local market to try and flog them (maybe the only way that they will be able to shift them)

In a recent YouGov survey 65% of those surveyed have no interest in the book and that is fairly consistent across all demographics. (https://yougov.co.uk/topics/entertainme ... 03/de5e3/2)

Not at ours you can't, the only acceptable option was to pay privately

Some folk however cannot afford to do that.

The Audiologist at the Hospital where I went for an ear trumpet would neither refer nor even do the test if my ears had any wax in them.

Meanwhile, asked if he will attend his father's coronation, Harry says "The door is always open. The ball is in their court".

While every interview he gives slams the door more firmly closed. My advice would be don't stay in waiting for the phone call.

None of us know the full detail of what went on but sadly, for someone I once respected, I find his arrogance breathtaking.

Harry says he would like to sit down with the family to try to find a reconciliation, BUT with his track record on reporting everything that happens, with their own particular slant, then I very much doubt that Charles and William will be willing to feed him with the material for Spare, the sequel.

I believe Harry will be invited to the coronation otherwise it would add further fuel to the fire for Whingealong, Part Two. The Palace will be keen not to give him any opportunity to say "There you are, I told you so". On the day it will publicly be all smiles and sweetness but away from the cameras it could all be rather frosty until they wing it off on their private jet back to the States. The less ammunition they can give him the better. Sadly they have shown they can never be trusted.

If, as Harry says, William said Meghan was "difficult, rude and abrasive" her father and stepsister were not so far off the mark.

It's sad to keep seeing the H&M story continuing to make headlines. Who in their rite mind would continue to feed the media stories of their dirty washing to be splashed before the public for more scrutiny. If they really want to make with his family why on earth dont they just shut up and contact the family in private to discuss his problems. After what ever the outcome may be, carry on with life with don't complain and don't explain, that way with no fuel for the fire there would be nothing to report. Of course, that is if it is not all being orchestrated to earn lots of money.
It would also bring hundreds of posts unable to carry on with no new stories to discuss... But...
Do I see PM Mr Sunac coming over the hill to restore normal service

Harry was saying the other day the family has made no attempt at reconciliation. That doesn't ring true to me. At the time of the Queen's funeral we saw Charles make the concession of allowing him to wear military uniform for the vigil, to which he was not entitled, Charles made a warm reference in his first speech as King and we saw the pair of them invited to join the walkabout with Wills and Kate at Windsor. I thought there were real olive branches there but they went home and continued chucking their teddies out of the cot.

I think Ray has hit the nail on the head. The life they have chosen is now funded by media interviews etc and their paymasters have no interest in stories saying it's all okay now. They've painted themselves into a corner. I'd say the ball is very much in their corner to find a way out. Today's press coverage is tomorrow's chip wrappers.

Just a thought - if the rumours at the time were to be true then Harry is not even a member of the Royal family

Will they, won’t they, of course they won’t, if someone calls you a liar you defend yourself…don’t you? unless you are guilty of course. :shifty:

Have you noticed that the tabloids have pulled back from making more stories up about Harry and lovely Meghan, they must have been briefed to do so because the institution are starting to realise...when the Corgis bite the wolf bites back even harder.

The truth always wins through in the end.
