' 0:0 ' keeps Millwall in the Division but Palace still need another draw to guarantee them a play off spot.

... roll on 12:45 on May 4th to reveal the contents of the magic box

Not quite Moby, they still need at least another point and they need to hope we lose against Barnsley, or Peterboro or Barnsley only draw, I think. :eh: :?

I'm looking from a different perspective, Paul

I'd love Millwall to go down now that we've been promoted

Guaranteed sell out at Priestfield because most Millwall fans come from Medway anyway ;)

Same as when you guys used to come down. Always a good crowd and a good game.

After lanquishing in the basement for a few years it really brings it home. Last season Accrington bought 26. I jest not. 26.
Our chairman bought them all pie& chips for making the effort

So obviously Bristol City are down but Wolves & Millwall would be the icing.

Good luck for the weekend

Barney, at least Millwall fans fight amongst themselves! How ridiculous was that? Does anybody know how that came about?

In all seriousness it's something football can do without.

Did anybody see Mourinho on TV this morning. Whatever anyone may say about him he is a star act. What a character (and football needs characters)!!

Foxy, it's just their nature. They love a ruck and if there's no on to ruck with, they turn on each other

To be fair, Gillingham has it's own share of knuckledraggers who seem to turn out in force when Millwall or Swindon are in town.

Every club has a few. Millwall have a lot.

They make a song and dance about how things have changed, but in reality, they just turn a blind eye.
When we last played at the Den, there was the usual announment at the end.
Away fans please wait until the home fans have cleared the ground.

Well, we waited & waited & waited.
A hardcore of Millwall had no intention of going anywhere soon so the Police kept us inside.
Quarter past six they let us out. Still at least we made it in one piece.

The vast majority of Millwall fans are just like any other fans, they ain't got a wide vocabulary and 'Anglo Saxon' is their main language one word beginning with F is the favorite, they are very loud and would be passionate (if they knew what that word meant)....Palace fans were held back for about 15 minutes last night...They have moved heaven and earth to get rid of their, lets say. unsavory support.

I don't know, but my guess on the Wembley thing is they were not Millwall fans that caused the trouble, yes they were in the Millwall end but they could have come from anywhere.....Millwall average about 10,000 and yet they sold 30,000 tickets for Wembley..My question to them would be, to who did you sell tickets to...answer...anyone that wanted one.....a recipe for crowd trouble....You could quite possibly have purchased a ticket on the day, at the Wembley Box Office.

You are right, Millwall need one more point AND for Barnsley not to win by 4, or could it be 5, clear goals.

I know you are all wondering so i thought I would make the last day scenario a little clearer, from a Palace point of view.

Here is a full breakdown of how the final day could pan out:

Palace Win Palace Draw Palace Lose
Forest win* Bolton win Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th,
unless Bolton win
by 3+ goals,
then Palace finish 6th Palace finish 7th
Forest win* Bolton draw Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 6th
Forest win* Bolton lose Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 6th
Forest draw Bolton win Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 6th
Forest draw Bolton draw Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th
Forest draw Bolton lose Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th
Forest lose Bolton win Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 6th
Forest lose Bolton draw Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th
Forest lose Bolton lose Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th Palace finish 5th
*Assuming Forest don't win by six or more goals against Leicester.

If Palace finish 5th they will play Brighton in the semi-final, with the first leg at Selhurst Park next week.
If Palace finish 6th, they will play Hull or Watford in the semi-final, with the first leg at Selhurst Park next week.

That's much clearer ain't it

It is so exciting..

The play-offs start tonight with League 2...Bradford v Burton and Northampton v Cheltenham....Good luck...all of you, may the best team win.

Good grief Paul. Looking at that you have about as much chance of not making the playoffs as we have of making them.

A good game on the box tonight Chelsea vs Basel. As a match of free-flowing football I enjoyed it. Pleased to see that Rafa has silenced the boneheads who gave him such a hard time when he arrived at the Bridge.

Didn't watch Chelsea, I watched the play-offs....Bradford v Burton 2-3, was a terrific game especially the first half. Second half I hopped between the two games.....The Northampton match was 'on the red button'. i could watch both games at the same time on the there..split screen.

ObF

We are doing our best not to qualify....We will see what happens.

Thanks Paul .... could you possibly add who Palace will play in the play-offs based on the same or similar results but to introduce Watford, Hull, Foxy and Brighton into the scenariao.

Many more thanks, albeit in anticipation

Because I am sad and have far to much time on my hands today MoB...I will try..

League Table................http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/D ... 27,00.html

Saturdays Fixtures.

Palace v Peterborough..see above

Hull v Cardiff
Watford V Leeds

If Hull win then they are promoted...If Hull lose and Watford win then Watford are promoted..if Hull draw and Watford win then Watford are promoted..If Hull win and Watford win then Hull are promoted...If Hull lose and Watford lose then Hull are promoted.

Nottingham Forest v Leicester

Far to complicated...see Palace scenario above and attached league table...In short Forest have a chance, Leicester need a bleedin' miracle.

Hope this helps

Nope, doesn't help one jot Paul!

All I know is that if Huddersfield get at least a point tomorrow then they are safe. Even if we lose, many other teams need to win in order that we finish 3rd bottom. I should be confident, but we've been in this scenario before and still been relegated.... :o

I'll be in Rome during the match, so I'm hoping from many text updates from my brother at the match.

The battle to avoid relegation is so close any two from seven teams could join Bristol City and make the drop to League One...Wolves, Barnsley, Peterborough, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, Huddersfield, Blackburn....See League Table.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/D ... 27,00.html

Fixtures

Brighton v Wolves
Huddersfield v Barnsley
Palace v Peterborough
Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough
Derby v Millwall
Birmingham v Blackburn

There are so many scenarios, so many if and buts that it would take a genius to work them all out and a genius I ain't...In short, to survive a team must win....Wolves who looked doomed, are the only team that must win and then rely on other results.

It is all so exciting...roll on tomorrow......Don't miss the Football League Show tomorrow night..BBC1 12:00 midnight.

Sid it, I forgot Bolton, they are involved in the play-offs as well, not sure how, you work it out and they are at home to Blackpool....

Question....There are just two fixtures in tomorrow's Championship programme that don't involve at least one of the teams in a promotion or relegation battle......which two :?:

Third prize two tickets for five Leicester home matches for season 2013/14.......Second prize two tickets for two Leicester home fixtures next season....and third prize one pair of tickets for a Leicester match next term :D

MoB

Yes......Sky are showing Hull vs Cardiff live on Sky Sports 1 and Watford vs Leeds on Sky Sports 2..on the red button :D ...and Sky Sports Xtra..Remember all games in the Championship kick off at 12:45 tomorrow...the show starts on 'one' at 12:00.

http://www1.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky

The 'red button' is brilliant because they give you a split screen as well as a full screen so you can watch both games at the same time.

My husband, his brother in law and his family, plus everyone my daughter works with all support Leeds and me and my daughter are Man Utd season ticket holders. Imagine the discussions we have had ! We do watch Leeds when their games are televised and even bought tickets and went to Elland Road with my husband for his birthday.
