I have actually written my memoirs OL, to be opened only on my death.
It’s mainly for the kids and grandkids to find out a bit more about Grandad and it’s mainly about my time working in Millbank.
They may find it fascinating.
I found out after my mother’s passing that my Dad was a Royal Navy pall bearer at the state funeral of King George VI .
He never mentioned it.

P.s I forgot to mention our daughter who has obviously inherited my wife’s genes…our daughter went to a grammar school, then York University, after which she did her MSC at Harper Adams…she is now an Entomologist Scientist…I don’t think she would align herself to any class group as she sees everyone as equals and treats them as such.

That’s a lovely thing to have done Barney and I’m sure your generational off spring will have fond memories of Grandad/ Great Grandad.

I can’t say I have gone into the same depth but what I have done having stored our daughter’s favourite childhood play things is to write several messages which I have put inside her game’s boxes, dolls house, etc.

It’s irrelevant how one sees one’s self mate.
It’s perception and how others view her.
She’s clearly very middle class.
Well done to her.
Just as a point, when I worked at Thames House, it was specifically because of my working class accent and being street wise.
They had a fair quota of Johnny Worriker types and needed diversity.
So, it can work to your advantage.

Is this Barney 008?

When I was a trucker, I delivered some filing cabinets to Thames House, round the back of course. I viewed everyone I saw as a spy.! 😂

Old habits die hard in Stephen’s line of business…I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t on Barney’s radar a few years back? :D

I think that I am missing something here.

Not that I am interested in the show as such but the Brit Awards this year changed one of the award categories from being "Best Male Artist" and "Best Female Artist" to become gender neutral and just be "Best Artist" - no problem there if that is what they want. But now there is an outcry because there were no female artists (incidentally I use the term "artist" very generously in this respect) nominated.

Now if I have this right the term "best" means just that and not having a mix of genders just to satisfy those that are not included. This is a case of "beware what you ask for".

I get fed up with all this political correctness - if somebody is applying for a job, or being nominated for something then it should be on merit and have nothing to do with gender, colour, sexual orientation or anything else.

That sort of what ever it is he is in and other outlandish Impractical apparel does absolutely nothing to me except maybe raise an eye brow.
Is it just me, am I missing something?

What it does do is ensure his photo all over social media, raising his profile. However since most of the comments are "plonker" or less complimentary I'm not sure it's worked as he might have hoped.

I agree 100%. Any quota in any direction is discrimination. Didn't think that was acceptable these days.

I reckon the lot of them are just attention seeking and affected. Not worth giving them air time.

I was watching a video on YouTube which says that all of the Carnival Group cruise lines are dumping the evening turn downs.

I wasn't planning on spending this much but thought I'd go overboard this year.
