We were having lunch when I saw this on the news , made me feel sick to my stomach.!
Times like this I wish I was still working. I have read court reports and interviewed some real nasty, horrendous cons who have committed crimes against infants/ children but I truly hope and believe that these two ‘things’,can’t call them humans, get the treatment they deserve.

Heart-breaking!!

I would like to drive a screwdriver through their heads…bring back the death sentence (preferably a very painful one)

Death is too good for them. That's the easy option.

24hr Pain and suffering for the rest of their days is my recommendation.

OL, possible chance of something simular happening should they have contact with inmates when then start thier sentence.
What kind of mentality do they have to do what is unimaginable to a small defenseless child.
They deserve everything they get during thier long sentence, hopefully life with no chance of release.
Don't worry, be happy

I agree Ray. I'm not a fan of death penalties but it should be a whole life sentence with no parole in the harshest prison we can find.

Similarly I think the American jerk leaking secrets should be tried for treason, because that's what it is. With a whole life sentence awaiting. It's time the US and us made it clear that no individual has the right to overrule the authorities on what needs to be secret for the common good.

On the news the question was put, did we fail the young child.
Child protection teams across the country are under staffed and under funded. Case workers are loaded with cases and they wonder why some at risk children are not found.
Parents of these children do all they can to hide problems from the officers, but when an officer has concern, it has to normally go to a case conference to determine the action to be taken. All this taking up time increasing further the case load.
The effect on some officers can be mentally draining.

I tend in these case to adopt "an eye for an eye" approach. These vermin should hove done to them what they did to the little lad and left to suffer like he had to - Oh I forgot that is probably what will happen, more than once. I suspect the inmates are lining up already.

I believe that a whole life sentence is mandatory for the murder of a child - and so it should be.

I think that it use to be the noose for treason. A sentence befitting the crime of revealing a states secret documents should be passed down as a warning to others who may feel thier agenda is more important.

I believe the death penalty is still on the statute books although will never happen, for treason and mutiny in the now Kings dockyard.

I maybe mistaken.

Did I hear that a court over ruled the Social Services, and returned the little chap to those two monsters. I'm afraid that I despair, when a parent can deliberately injure and kill a baby. Most normal parents cant help loving and protecting them.

I missed the detail Frank but it defies belief that he was returned at all. Heads should roll whoever made that crass decision.

But surely the social workers should have known the parents were heavy cannabis users, and despite many people considering it to be harmless, it clearly isn't to those who become so dependent.
If the case workers are far too busy, surely they should err on the side of caution when making decisions, then horrors like this might well be fewer.

I understand all the arguments against the reintroduction of the death penalty…and yes mistakes have been made in the past, but in situations such as this, there is no doubt who the killers are…the fact that they were cocaine abusers is no excuse…they should be tied to a railway line, and be left in no doubt which train they’ll be catching.

I’m sick to the back teeth with all this "thou shalt not kill" malarkey.

How many more children are going to be killed before we respond and intervene much earlier. It seems a regular occurrence where the rights and needs come before those little mites who have no say in the matter. Some of these people should never be allowed to breed.

It’s a crazy world we live in when animals like these commit these horrendous crimes and then we pay £££millions to keep them away from prisoners who would inflict the same kind of injuries they subjected their child to.

Questions have to be asked of the court’s decision to send him back to his parents. Judge,Recorder,,Magistrate whoever should be questioned under caution ,if need be charges brought, there must be something in the books.

Towny, No matter if the parents are on drugs, it still has to be proved they are not capable of good parenting. A case worker can not remove a child without a court order unless the child may be in immediate danger, and then a police officer can be called hopefully with the skill to assess the danger and situation.

Drug users (Addicts) shouldn’t be allowed to be left in charge of children, imo
