Re: Football 22/23
Well it's looking like Enzo Maresca is destined to be our next manager.
Must admit it's a bit of a bold move by our board but it's an exciting prospect. He has worked as Pep's assistant coach at Man City so should know a thing or two about coaching. We may also be able to attract some talented players as a result. It could, of course, go belly up but the appointment of any new manager does not guarantee success. Watch this space.
Meanwhile it looks like Rodgers is heading back to Celtic. Given his reputation I'm surprised one of the managerless clubs in the Prem hadn't snapped him up.

Our son in law, coming from Holmfirth is a Huddersfield follower, and pleased to see Warnock appointed. I think he just wants to know " 'Ow mooch?"towny44 wrote: 14 Jun 2023, 16:12It has been known for a week or more here, but was thought to be waiting for the takeover to be ratified, which it has by the EFL, but still awaits govt body approval.barney wrote: 14 Jun 2023, 10:02Warnock is Huddersfield new (old) manager.

At Colin’s age, he’s clearly doing it for the love of the game, not money.Frank Manning wrote: 17 Jun 2023, 12:01Our son in law, coming from Holmfirth is a Huddersfield follower, and pleased to see Warnock appointed. Yep!
We start away to playoff losers Stockport.
First games are always weird
Win and we are going up as champions
Lose and we become relegation fodder

Well done England, European Champions beat Spain 1-0.
A scrappy game but the England hero is James Trafford the England goalkeeper who made a double save after Spain were given a penalty in the 95th minute.
You've missed a good 'un.

It was a tight match. The Spaniards had some good chances but somehow we managed to keep them out. Not many clear cut chances at either end. Did we have a corner all match?
Agreed, Trafford was the hero.

Re: Football 22/23
More importantly…….
Gills played their first pre season match
Away to Dover and won 4-0
Played two totally different teams in each half.
This time last year we couldn’t put eleven out without trialists.
How times change for a football fan.
Off to Como on Monday.
Last season, Leysdown

Como from the Italian second division yesterday in 35c heat.
Beautiful stadium right on the lake.
Como dominated possession but couldn’t hit a cows bum with a banjo up front.
Gills played a different team in each half and that showed late on with an 87th minute winner.
A great bonding trip.
Millwall on Saturday.

Home to Millwall today and shown live.
0-2 but played ok in my opinion.
First half penalty and 87th minute second goal.
Millwall looked tidy with some serious pace in their team

I'm at Bromley v Fulham XI. 2-1 half time. A really good competitive game for a friendly.
