In our brave new world it is apparently perfectly in order to be of any orientation and to opt at any time for any preference as one sees fit. The latter point seems to suggest that one could make any choice but is that the reality.

Many years ago we had a very respected Member on here who was openly gay, he explained that it wasn't a lifestyle choice even though some thought it was.

Is it possible therefore that any male person with a little one could be aroused by another male with a big one and that such feelings were potentially formed in the showers during adolescence but such thoughts can become beyond control as age and hormones kick in.

If so is the condition above actually treatable, I do hope so ... asking for a friend

It's interesting you say that, because although that is being widely assumed I've only actually seen gender neutral reporting. Have you seen that for certain?

I'd assumed the gender neutrality (young person, teenager etc) was either a: to protest their identity or b: whip up a bit of homophobic reaction.

My natural instincts in the first instance assumed female but something / someone / somewhere caused me to revise the gender of the young person as male ... .

I'm pretty sickened by the hypocrisy of the media who have literally hounded a man who has done nothing criminally wrong and are now backtracking with their sympathy and false understanding of his predicament. I wonder how much the frenzy of the past two or three weeks have led to his admission to hospital on mental grounds.One can only imagine.

Personally I liked his reporting which was informative and delivered with a gentle, calm tone. I would like to think when this has all blown over he will be able to return. However I understand there are issues at work which will need to be resolved first.

BBC News coverage makes a good point about the Sun newspaper, or so I thought

" Simpson goes on to say he believes that the coverage from other parts of the press “feeds into a concerted political campaign in this country against the BBC".

He adds: "It's encouraged by the Murdoch newspapers, by The Telegraph and the Mail group, they want to see effectively the end of the BBC, they want to see it destroyed.”

Can someone tell me why the UK is still giving India Aid when they can afford to go up in space and land on the moon.

In 2015 India told the government that they did not want any more aid, and yet between 2016 - 2021 we sent ,£1.9 billion in aid to India. Why.....

My understanding is that the format of aid has changed and it now goes in the form of business investments which benefit UK and Indian business interests.

I must admit it baffles me.

Interesting figures in the paper last week. Westminster has more public electric car charging points than Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle COMBINED.

Certainly explains the government's rush to eliminate new petrol and diesel cars by 2030 while much of the country worries about the inadequacy of the infrastructure. Then of course there's cost, less of an issue for the average earner in London compared with elsewhere.

So assuming the dash for electric is the right solution (and as an electrical engineer by training I'm not entirely sure about that) here is my plan to achieve it.

1. Over the period from now to 2030 for every new public charging point within the M25 there must be 10 elsewhere.

2. The maximum price of a new electric car in 2030 must be no more than the price of the equivalent spec diesel model today in real terms (i.e. the only increase must be in line with inflation, wage increases, pension increases, living wage increases, or benefits increases, whichever is the lowest).

3. There must be facilities to recycle all old vehicle batteries for future uses and to safely dispose of all batteries beyond further use in the UK.

4. There must be a guarantee that public charging points will cost no more per mile than petrol does and no new taxes on electric vehicles.

That'll do for starters. Vote Mervyn.

I am happy with my Diesel thank you very much. Be a long time before I go electric, hopefully hydrogen will be more developed as the pressure for alternatives increase.

How much truth there is in it only time will tell but my feelings are summed up in two words and they're not 'Come home'.

Had they retired gracefully to the US it would have been feasible for them to return but after their Winfrey interview, his book and other interviews they have given disparaging the Royal Family he has effectively burnt his boats. I can't see them getting much of a welcome here and hopefully they will fade into the sunset in their US home.

Of course they can always live at Keefy Towers!!!
