Football 23/24
I thought we ought to start a new thread to welcome the new season this coming weekend.
The Terriers are predicted to finish 21st by some soccer experts, or 8th by some super computer, I think I will opt for the digital forecast.

Good luck to all the teams we follow. I don't know what the season has in store but whatever happens I will enjoy it. Another roller coaster for the Palace I expect.

Good luck to everybody.
How much has your team changed from last season ?
The Hornets have reduced their squad total by 10 players albeit we are missing a No 9. Most of the high earners have been moved on but money will still be tight for us. Will deffo miss the likes of Pedro and Sarr but they were too good for this league and will hopefully fare better at Brighton / Marseilles.

Looking forward to the season and wishing all of our teams well.
No doubt there will be many ups and downs but at the end of the day it's only a game. Good luck everyone.

4-0 up by half time. Set off with a gallop. This manager could be staying for a while.
Not the best of starts for Huddersfield though. Still plenty of matches left.
How did Gillingham get on?
Meanwhile I hope we put in more effort than we did last season otherwise I'll not be a happy bunny!!!

Just checked and the Gills won 1-0 away from home. I presume barney will have a sore head after celebrating.

I've had that problem and it was one of my security extensions/settings which was preventing me from accepting cookies. May be worth having a look.

Meanwhile the Foxes came from behind to win 2-1. It wasn't easy, Cov are a good team, but once we started upping the pace of the game we looked a different team altogether. Maresca has clearly made a difference.

love the women’s football (world Cup) much more entertaining than the male equivalent game in my opinion.

Re: Football 23/24
England rode their luck today. I thought Nigeria looked the better team and James's sending off was disgraceful. Lucky not to concede a penalty as well.
Not their best performance although penalties were excellent.

Re: Football 23/24
I would agree with what you say Foxy, Nigeria were the better side. As for penalties I thought we should have been awarded a penalty in the first half so all in all the right outcome. James foot job was reminiscent of Beckhams world cup sending off…just reward for immature foul play.oldbluefox wrote: 07 Aug 2023, 16:22England rode their luck today. Re: Football 23/24
Indeed OL. Both looked like penalties to me so they cancelled each other out. I was mightily impressed by our penalty takers especially the last one. Get in there! There was no way that was being saved. Perhaps they could teach the men a few tricks there because some of the penalties I have seen from them have been frankly pathetic.
