As they disembark the illegal asylum seekers from the Bibby Stockholm barge, why was the water not checked, how many dead legs due to no use were not thought of and they may need to be chlorinated through out the system. Every room should have been checked. It sounds like no one carried out the checks.

A boat full of ‘migrants’ gets into difficulties in French waters, some dead,some missing. Some of the rescued are brought to the UK by RNLI. Now I don’t mind and fully understand that’s the job of the RNLI,but why not deliver them to France from where they left.

I see that sales of fake meat products have fallen. About time too. There's nothing wrong with a vegetarian diet, or even vegan, if that's what floats your boat. But with plenty of good honest tasty plant based recipes and products out there why mess about trying to imitate the ingredients you basically don't want? We eat a good mixed diet of meat, fish and veg. But I have zero interest in seeking out a joint of beef shaped and processed to look and taste like a carrot. And this fake stuff is bonkers expensive too.

Strange as it may seem I think I have lost the plot (yet again)

There is outrage in the media this morning that the Government needs to do more to stop the asylum seekers crossing the channel in small boats after yesterday's tragedy.

Now let me see if I have this right. The asylum seekers (in the main) are going from Africa to Italy in small boats, but nobody it telling Italy to stop the boats. The asylum seekers are then travelling across Europe with nobody stopping them. The asylum seekers arrive in France and somebody offers to ferry them across the channel for an extortionate amount of money which in itself whilst being immoral is not illegal. The asylum seekers are then loaded onto small boats in France breaking all international maritime laws and not being stopped - and it is the UK Government's fault.

Amongst many of the asylum seekers supporters the only answer permitted to stop the boats is to allow free access to the UK for all who wish to come here, (as long as they don't have to house them)

Let’s not forget the £££millions the UK government have handed to the French in order to prevent facilitate theses crossings. As hash as it may seem these desperate people are looking to optimise their futures in a country that has its own inequity problems and poor standard of living accommodation.

On that score successive Governments must carry most of the responsibility.

And to make matters worse I now read that the latest boat to sink, killing several, was first intercepted by the French navy in their waters, and instead of turning an unsafe craft back they escorted it into UK waters so that it became our problem. Is that not manslaughter at best?

The govt are trying to bring in legislation that will make it illegal to apply for asylum if you arrive by illegal boats. However I cannot see the opposition parties agreeing to this without a fight, and even when they do there will lots of human rights lawyers wanting to contest this in court.
Personally I think this is a great idea and certainly one that could work, if we can maybe cull a few of the lawyers.

The Government are working on the advice given by the experts in this field and they have already said that only over 65s will be getting the flu jab this year.

Won't your wife be eligible under the carers category as she has you to put up with care for

I always thought that was the case and if it wasn't then it should have been.

I really do not understand what is going on with all these illegal arrivals. The rule in all countries is that if you arrive illegally then you are deported to whence you came, but with these asylum seekers they arrive illegally and the first thing that they do is report to the authorities that they are here and want asylum so we accommodate them in hotels - I feel I am missing something.

I understand the reason so many 'children' are arriving is because they are paid for by their families. Once they are allowed to stay they can bring in their families as they are unaccompanied minors. Clever little ruse eh? Buy one get many more free

Unless this government get a grip on the situation, which I doubt, then they can kiss goodbye to any chance of bing reelected.

We must be a laughing stock and considered a soft touch to anyone wanting to enter the country illegally.

We could do with dropping a hundred or so foreign speaking interpreters on the shores of France with the message that the UK has become a hell hole for illegal immigrants.
