Their can be no complaints from the England side, they were outplayed in every department, but hey, the ladies did well.
The only thing I would change is the National Anthem, it’s so boring and unrepresentative of our country...time for a change me thinks.

I was aware of this Foxy but it still has “Gracious King” and “long may he reign over us” in the lyrics…one of which is a lie the other is an absurdity in this day and age.

I take it you didn't watch what happened at the England Italy Euro Final at Wembley then..... :sarcasm:
And all clubs have their idiots. Anyone thinking there are no issues with English men's support is living in cloud cuckoo land. Even this season we have had problems with foreign objects thrown on the pitch. It's a shame we all share.
Yes you are right but it's a very small minority that do those sorts of things. Not every football fan is a brainless numbskull tanked up on alcohol and there are loads of families that go to football. Misbehave at football and get caught then it's a life time ban in most cases so most fans behave and if you arrive at the turnstiles and stewards believe that you have had to much to drink you don't even get in and if, once your inside the ground you drink to much then you are likely to be arrested. So there are very few mindless numbskulls tanked up with alcohol inside a ground these days.
It is a small minrity but it's a significant one and it's this loutish behaviour which spoils it for many. I didn't say every football fan is a brainless numbskull (not sure where you got that idea) but I have yet to hear any reports of bad behaviour from the ladies matches either inside or outside the stadium. I wish the same could be said about the men's game.
Correct me if I am wrong but it looked like there was no segregation between opposing supporters and alcohol was allowed onto the seating areas. Is this common in the men's game? Rugby can do it so why not soccer?
Like I've already said you ain't been inside a football stadium for years. It just ain't like that. Fans in the Prem and EFL aren't allowed to mix, if they were then there would be little trouble. Your living in the past. Go to a non league game and you will find fans mixing and drinking and not a hint of trouble and no segregation. I can't speak for rugby I've never to a live game but it's a joy going to football and something I look forward to week in week out. If it were like you describe I wouldn't go anywhere near it

Paul, you know nothing about me nor how many matches I have been to lately so stop making assumptions. You know why fans in the Prem and EFL are not allowed to mix and so do I (not talking about non league).
I am giving you a link but I presume they have it wrong as well. Put 'Football trouble 2022' into Youtube and tell me there's not an issue with football hooligans. You're living
in a fantasy if you think it doesn't exist. try this one
This is why the Women's football experience is so much more enjoyable.

One thing for sure is that the women’s game appears to attract far more young families to their matches.

So sad for the lass who captained the Spanish side and scored the winning goal found out after the match that her father had died. He never lived long enough to see the highest point of his daughter's professional life.

Whilst I’m not a believer in the here-after there will be those who think he was there in spirit…fitting tribute to her father me thinks.

What I found encouraging was that on the various interviews I've heard on the radio this morning is that the vast majority of England fans all agreed that the Spanish team was better than the English girls. There was no mention of the 'We was robbed' that has been heard in the past.

First home game of the season tonight v Arsenal live on Sky 8.00 kick off.
Plenty of time to be a mindless numbskull tanked up on alcohol and terrify a few families.

Seems a little irrelevant. I haven't been inside a football stadium for 30 years but I see the news and know football hooligans, although a small minority, are still a problem and are spoiling it for the rest.

They are not spoiling it for the rest attendences are up in practically every division. The Premier League is pretty much a sell out every game. There is very little trouble inside stadiums, what trouble there is usually happens outside of grounds or even miles from the stadium. I haven't seen any trouble of any sort inside or outside Selhurst Park for about 30 years. It's strange that in almost every other subject the media exaggerate but when it comes to football you believe every word they say.

That may well be the case Paul but the behaviours of a few can have a massive impact on those who otherwise might like to attend matches, e.g. families with children.

Violence at games between certain Clubs is a given, ManU vs Liverpool or Brighton vs Palace plus everybody vs Leeds. Rather than going away it has simply taken a different form.

Consider also the cowardly violence being dished out by the hooligans with their racial and homophobic abuse of certain players and Managers.

Have to agree, football violence rarely occurs near the ground nowadays.

The hooligans await the fixtures and arrange where to meet well in advance of the game, people like me enjoy to football, hooligans enjoy the violence and really have no or little interest in the football.

As always, the minority ruin it for the majority.

Slapstick.

Hi John,
Sorry, I missed your post.

No, I wouldn’t like that, my preference would be for a new composition to be composed, one that reflects our country, it’s values. it’s culture and restores the pride we once had in this country. But in truth anything would be better than singing the virtues of an individual who sits at the head of a class system that will eventually tear this country apart.

It's great if you can except defeat in a dignified manner. But as for the Matildas, not so, they moaned about the fact that Sweden had an extreme day to them to prepare. Get over it, once you reach that level, the fitness should be there, so stop winging.

Not so much excited Paul, as impressed by the discipline and ability to see a match out.
That's unusual for us.
The defence have been magnificent.
Playing bottom placed Colchester at home on Saturday.

But we all know that the media always highlight the worst events, if they were to give the best events the same airtime then the worst events would only be aired once or twice a year, and everyone would be bored to death and stop watching the news or reading papers.
