Star of the show against Luton was Jayden Clarke , who we picked up from Dulwich Hamlet.paultheagle wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 13:02We will definitely play a mix if fringe players and academy at Plymouth. My memories of Plymouth, they are a very loud, passionate crowd. I think we will be knocked out of the EFL cup at the first hurdle especially if they play their strongest team.
He was signed in January but well away from match fitness for league two so spent the second half of last season training with the squad.
His first start was against Southampton and looked very lively.
His second start was against Luton and clearly man of the match and scored his first goal for the club.
It's quite possible we've unearthed another non league talent.
I'll be honest, Gills were never out of this match and Luton were hanging on at the end.
If we can transfer that performance into every league match, we will be promoted.
Unfortunately, as we all know, football doesn't work like that.
