Re: Sir Alex
Do any of you think that a club of Manchester United's stature are going to let it go down the tubes ? You're having a larff aren't you ? You all hope they will fold up and die, keep hoping folks !

Re: Sir Alex
Happens all the time, it is called a regime change and any regime change creats a power vacuum.
it happened to Liverpool, Arsenal etc, why are United any different?
watch for the exodus of players, Giggs, Scholes, Rooney etc etc

You only need to look at what happened to the clubs when other top managers retired.Mo2013 wrote:Do any of you think that a club of Manchester United's stature are going to let it go down the tubes ? You're having a larff aren't you ? You all hope they will fold up and die, keep hoping folks !
No room for complacency here.

Re: Sir Alex
I am not complacent, I sincerely hope that the club will continue in the same vein. Regarding Giggs and Scholes, they will retire anyway, and that will have nothing to do with Sir Alex's retirement. Rooney has not seemed himself for a while now and it is rumoured that he has asked for a transfer and the club has said he is not for sale, but in any case I would not want the club to keep a player who did not want to be there and whose heart was not in it. I am sure that MUFC have thought about the day that SAF retired, and discussed at length his replacement so we shall see what unfolds in the coming weeks.

Re: Sir Alex
the court case between Rooney and Moyes will no have no bearing then?
watch for the exodus
bookies odds on Moyes lasting less than 18 months are quite generous and the outside bet is he lasts 3 years at nice long odds

oh dear
is there an icon for putting you hands over your ears and going Na, na , na , na
would seem appropriate, as some people just cannot accept critique of their beloved club.....bless em

Not automatically.Dark Knight wrote:Happens all the time, it is called a regime change and any regime change creats a power vacuum ...
This regime change has, I would suggest, been planned over a number of years and the fall-out can be avoided if they chose the right man to replace Sir Alex ... enter David Moyes who is probably Fergies choice and he, after all, will only be a phone call away even in early retirement if needs be.
Nope, they will not take a dip nor will there be wholesale changes.
But if Jose gets the job then anything could happen

Let us assume David Moyes gets the job and that Sir Alex will whisper in his ear about getting in Bale and dumping Ninny and Anderson ... that is business as usual rather than a team re-build.Dark Knight wrote:Moby

A dip in form will not arise because the Manager changes, no one man is bigger than this Club.
So ...
I will accept your wager for a fiver but let me tell you it's like taking candy from a baby

Re: Sir Alex
David Moyes taking over from Sir Alex is a great choice and it would seem one of the worst kept secrets of all time.
Fergie ain't leaving the club is he? He is retiring from being their Manager, he is moving up stairs..
Why David Moyes...Mr Moyes has all the qualities that United expect of their manager and unlike any foreign manager he will not consider it a weakness to ask for help if needed and Sir Alex will willingly give his advice.
I think United might struggle a tad at the start of next season while the players get used to David Moyes ways of doing things but that won't last.
Don't worry the Premier League will still be boring next season, United will still win it but maybe not by such a hugh margin.....If the Palace get promoted they will have a least six points fewer than this one for a starters

PTE
There lies the problem, Fergie will be forever interfering. The reason why Moyes stayed so long at Everton was because of Bill Kenwright's light touch.

According to sky sports, Rooney asked for a transfer a couple of weeks ago, not happy with the position he has been playing in of late.Serendipity wrote:My daughter is a friend of David Moye's daughter and she reckons he signed on the dotted line last week but he doesnt want to work with Rooney.

I don't think he will interfere though Ray, Moyes will walk before he let that happens.... Moyes will have a very difficult job, people both inside and outside the club will invariably compare......Moyes does something and some will shout...Sir Alex would never have done that....but I think United will let Moyes be his own man...Sir Alex will be there to help, if asked and that will almost certainly guarantee continuity.

Re: Sir Alex
Rooney's body language on the pitch in recent games clearly shows that he is not happy in the position he has been played in. But MUFC say that he is not for sale. Having said that, the same was said about RVP. In all walks of life most people have to work with someone they don't get on with and have to be professional about it so why should football be any different ?

Rumour around this part is that Rooney is totally disenchanted with football, and is joining
Colleen's business as a male model.

Ha ha, as someone who goes to every home game, I am sure I won't say SAF would have done this and that, because at times this season I have wondered why SAF himself has done this and that and played this player and not that player !!!! I am quite prepared for a different style of manager.
