Anyone got wind?

Unread post by Onelife »

Whilst we’re not in the worst affected area the winds are pretty strong here in lovely Shropshire….hope it eases down as we are heading towards Warwickshire this morning.

According to the BBC here, near Southampton, the wind is 41mph but due to reduce by 1pm. Having just been into my garden there's hardly any wind, not sunny, but not a bad day, 12C. I'm assuming that down here Christmas Day will be the usual mild and wet, showers being forecast at the moment. It would be good to have a frosty, sunny Christmas Day. I don't say snowy as although it's lovely to look out, not so much fun for those who have to travel. We hardly ever have snow here as we're protected by the Isle of Wight.

Those 40+ mph winds are, hopefully, just gusts not continuous wind.

We are currently getting gusts in the 30+ mph range but the wind is in the 8-15 mph range

It seems to have died down here. Good old reliable BBC weather........not.

Forecast here for Christmas day is wet and breezy which, in reality probably means a heat wave. But who cares, I'm not going any aware Christmas day.

Forecast is for a breezy afternoon on Christmas Day after all those sprouts have been digested :)

We had a 15x10 foot polytunnel erected in our garden on Monday…it survived the wind, my driveway gates didn’t…I’ve got a chap coming out this morning to inspect for repair…or in this case replace I suspect.
