Re: Current Affairs 2024
And now I see our prince in America is having his visa application examined due to admissions in his book Spare about drug use. His mates have jumped to his defence saying it was an embellishment added to sell books but weren't true.
The lies just keep coming and coming.

Re: Current Affairs 2024
Be fair Barney. Everything else was of course true. Just that teeny weeny lie. Oh and the bit about killing people that upset the military. The rest is gospel.
He needs to give up his addiction to court cases. His success rate isn't good. And he should be ordered to pay costs. If he can't afford it they'll have to get jobs. It's not as they're royals or anything.

Or if they return as private citizens for family visits don't publicise it. They only do it to try to get sympathy points. "I've dropped everything to rush here to be by my poorly Daddy's side!"
If no-one knows they're here no-one can try to kill them.
I don't announce my travel plans in the media and it's worked for me so far!

Re: Current Affairs 2024
I keep reading about the media and its push to find out what the Princess of Wales health problems are, because the public are wanting to know.
Now there is no way I want to know what her medical problems are ,no more than I want any medical problem that I may suffer made public. I would think most decent people who like or dislike royalty would think that way, only that she makes a full recovery.
I do not include myself in the media reasoning to find out. She may be a public figure, but that does not mean her medical problems must be made public, except that she is doing well, etc.
The media ratbags sometimes just don't know when to draw the line .

Re: Current Affairs 2024
Rìshi's address about extremism last night said it is okay to criticise governments. So as the UN finds that those killed in the aid convoy had bullet wounds, the latest Israeli atrocity, let's have someone make it clear that criticising the barbarity of the Israeli government's response to the terrorist attack on 7th October is not anti semitism. I have nothing against Jewish or Palestinian people. But Hamas and the Israeli government are both thugs.

Re: Current Affairs 2024
Whilst agreeing that both sides have their thugs I think we need to make sure any critisism is aimed at both sides. Too many of the protests and reports are very one sided.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 02 Mar 2024, 09:42Rìshi's address about extremism last night said it is okay to criticise governments. Also the UN reports do not say those killed in the aid convoy had bullet wounds , it said SOME of those injured had bullet wounds
For me that small word makes a substantial difference in the report

Yes my apologies. It is however incompatible with the Israeli claims that their troops only fired warning shots and the injuries were caused by a stampede.

Re: Current Affairs 2024
I think they are all playing games with the press who are very biased towards the innocent civilians being killed and rightly so. However Israeli soldiers are also being killed by Hamas fighters hiding amongst civilians so we may never know which are Hamas fighters and which are civilians.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 02 Mar 2024, 13:35Yes my apologies. Neither side come out of this awful mess covered in glory. It could all be over in days if Hamas released the hostages and relieved the suffering of those caught up in this war.

Yes you're right Foxy. There are two sides to it and neither is wholly innocent. However Israel has now killed around 30 times as many people as Hamas. And has effectively vetoed the only effective peaceful solution.,

Couldn't agree more. It's time to stop this suffering and waste of lives.

Re: Current Affairs 2024
The carnage will go on until Israel has the hostages back, and that for innocent Palestinians is the cruel truth.
Merv is right about the gung-ho behaviour of the Israeli troops who seem to follow the maxim 'if it moves, shoot it', as evidenced when they shot two of their own escaped hostages.
