I just love the way that barristers have with words
"When you spoke to John Scott about this, did you say John, I’ve been in the organisation for five or six years, I didn’t know you had a team of 100 people that were investigating up and down the country sub-postmasters and sending them to prison. How come I didn’t know?” Beer asks.
Yes’ they are very clever at laying down the bait before setting the trap.

I really don't like to see people crying or upset but when I look at the misery and hurt visited on these people I am very happy to make an exception.
The woman creamed off millions in salary and bonuses at the same time committing innocent people to imprisonment, bankruptcy and in some cases suicide.
Despicable.

Her tears just don’t work for me - I cannot find an ounce of sympathy for a person who ruined so many lives - honestly I want to punch her! My sister and I took her apart last night - it’s a woman thing 😂 - hair/makeup/clothes - silly but combined with a few choice swear words made us feel better. I suspect we’ll see more tears and denials and lies today - hope the barristers give her hell 😡

There’s nothing wrong with her memory as she can remember the names of everyone she is trying to drop in the Sh*t!

Can someone explain what the senior management at the Post Office actually did as it appears that none of them were at any of the meetings they were supposedly at as they cannot remember anything about them, they did not read any emails even though they replied to them, they were not given copies of any reports but are able to deny that they accepted the recommendations and so it goes on.

I know that if I was so incompetent when at work I would not have lasted as long as they did, but then I was not being paid the extortionate salaries that they were being paid. Obviously the more incompetent that you are the higher the salary you can expect.

It’s called selective memory.

Let’s hope they get enough evidence/information to forward to the prosecution service to stick her and others in the dock.

Unfortunately, Stephen, the wider you spread the blame for this disgraceful event the less likely it is that anyone will face criminal charges.... this imo is what her lawyers are instructing her to do.

As much as I would like to see her squirm in the dock I tend to agree that she will probably wriggle out of any criminal charges.

Today's quote from Vennells:
You are not responsible for everything that happens underneath you
I thought that was exactly what a CEO was responsible for

If it's not why did she collect big bonuses for everything?

One thing is very clear from her evidence. She was criminal, negligent or incompetent. Or some combination of all three. At one extreme she should be put on trial and imprisoned. At the other at the very least she should repay every penny in salary and bonuses she ever received.

Going by her lack of memory she should get a dementia test.

As should all the other highly overpaid Post Office senior managers, as they all appear to suffer the same.

The evidence in the Post Office enquiry is utterly damning of Vennels and her cronies. Surely criminal charges must come soon.

She will be able to afford the best defence lawyers who will get her a lenient sentence in a luxury open prison…use the clawback option and hit her where it hurts.
