Could you Adam and Eve it :o

Over-50s social website Saga Zone is shut down over ‘racist, homophobic and offensive’ comments

Very sad - it was a very interesting forum for many years for us old dears

...... and there's me thinking it was for Saga cruises!

Bye the way - in another life we used to say that 'Saga' stood for 'send all grannies away', which wasn't a bad thought really, because at least all the grannies got to have a holiday! On the other hand, Sabena stood for 'send all baggage everywhere now and again'!

Graham, hopefully someone connected with your now sadly missing website will set up the Saga equivalent of this stunning forum - and then you'll all be jumping for joy.

Em

Slightly off course

SAGA = Sex Annually Generally August :D

BTW There was a concerted attack by a handful of probably under 50's to ruin the Sagazone, why I know not

Must dash

Off to the theatre for a busy weekend

Kind regards

I thought this had happened a while ago, I remember reading about it either on another forum or it may have been in the Saga "mag" we seem to get occasionally.

I wasn't aware there was a forum either until I took a look, what a shame that a few senseless people spoil it for many, unfortunately it is a cross that most forums have to bear

Graham, hang in there only 3 months to go :o

 Jo,

You're shocked - it's alright for you kiddo ........ I'm concerned!

But, I had already said I would be 'popping in' at Wimborne in August!

So, can you picture it ........ approaching a certain establishment in a furtive, concerned, Mrs Bouquet sort of way ....... NO - I've got to stop it, laughing too much!

Back to the boots and kippers methinks!

Em

If you want a list of irreverent airline names, see: http://www.b737.org.uk/airlineabbrevs.htm

Hi Mariner -

Thanks for the link to 'airline names' - still trying to think of an appropriate one for Virgin (after suffering sub-zero service on an upgraded paid for seat!).

Em

Well, the railways have some similar irreverent names in which Virgin = Vermin.
Some years ago 'Railtrack' - then often known as 'Railcrack', became 'Network Rail' and has now gained the epithet 'Notwork Fail'!

This reminds me of a story I was told some years ago when British Rail (as it was then) decided that in the interests of efficiency that instead of using the full job titles that they would adopt a system of using the initials of the job title. The whole system fell apart when they realised that the Rolling Stock Engineer had an Assistant

The "weekly" C130 Hercules between Masirah and Salalah acquired the nicknames Yimkin Airways - yimkin being Arabic for "maybe", the serviceability being somewhat haphazard, (http://www.cruise-community.me.uk/galle ... age_id=232) and Pandemonium Scairways (http://www.cruise-community.me.uk/galle ... age_id=233)
