Saga Spirit of Discvery

Unread post by Stephen »

The day has arrived and our driver will be picking us up shortly for our 5 night Saga cruise round the bottom of the uk. A first with them for us.

You’re as common as sh*t Stephen, we call them chauffeurs in this neck of the woods.

Have a lovely cruise mate.

The 'Chauffeur' has a good lifestyle but a busy one. Apart from this job he chauffeurs round the CEO for Microsoft in a Roller and is very well looked after.

The beamer we are travelling down in is very nice. And the indicators work ;)

Have a lovely time Stephen.

Look after the ship for me as I'm on at the end of August.

Onboard and sitting in the coffee area while we wait for the buffet to open and our suite to be ready. Straight away the waiter came and asked if would like anything to drink. So far I'm impressed.

Our friends swore by Saga and had numerous cruises on them.
They really rated it.
Unfortunately, the guy passed away very unexpectedly on Christmas Day on Spirit of Discovery.
She was very well looked after by Saga until they docked in Southampton.
Let us know how it all goes.

Well impressed so far.

Strange to mention it i know but the loo's are like something out of a top London Hotel, very posh.

As for the drinks menu....well happy

Merv would be in his element as i am with the variety of whiskeys including single malts on offer.

I could get use to this.

Have a nice cruise Stephen. To try and keep the image don't mention Maldon, say you come from somewhere like Great Totham.
Don't worry, be happy

Have a great cruise Stephen. We did Saga years ago...expensive but you get what you pay for and we thought it was worth every penny.

This is the way to cruise.

I think I’ll have to loosen Mr’s S inheritance purse strings as so far P&O are looking more like ‘The Maggie’ in comparison.

Yes, expensive, but very very nice. Just gave our order to the butler who turned up in his refinery/tails and ordered whatever we like booze bottle wise for the cabin (1ltre bottles). Allocated East to West (Asian) restaurant tonight and have pre-booked with the butler for the rest of the cruise.

Being waited on hand and foot will seem quite normal for you as from what you have said that is what Mrs S does all the time - you really should allow her an hour or two off whilst she is on holiday.

We have 14 nights on Adventure next year. I'll see if I can work my way along the shelf.

A fairly wealthy wife mate

I haven’t got a pot to pi** in myself ;)

I don’t know why cruise lines bother with Guernsey. Yet again we can’t get in there tomorrow so are at sea. Re scheduled for Tuesday 🤞

Aurora is scheduled there tomorrow too on a 3 night cruise! Should help the bar takings when she doesn't get there!
