She was lovely. So was I.

But I see another Strictly Pro has been dumped over criticism of his training methods. I don't approve of bullying, however I have some advice for any celebrity approached to take part.

This is not a drama in which you are acting the part of a dancer and have a stunt double to do the difficult bits. It's a real dancing competition, to a high standard.

The professional's aim is to get you good enough to go through to the next round, to earn more public adulation, and money. They have just four days to achieve this and frankly some of you are pretty useless. Their teaching methods will include encouragement, cajoling and, if necessary, shouting at you. When you think you have nothing left to give they will know that another push could make the difference between a 9 and a 10 (or a 3 and a 4).

Professional dancers, with all their experience, get injuries. So you should expect to as well. To various parts of your body as well as your precious ego and pride.

So if you're not ready for the lows as well as the high, turn down the invitation. Leave the chance of public exposure on a show with a big audience, and a decent fee, for someone less delicate.

Couldn't have put it better Merv. Too often we hear of these so-called celebrities taking on the challenge of Strictly and the exposure it brings (plus the money) and all we hear from them is how difficult it is pulling in two jobs, how tired and exhausted they are, how they haven't seen their family, mental health problems etc etc.
Surely they knew before they signed the contract what the commitments were and what would be expected of them. It's not as though it's a new programme so there are plenty of previous contestants around who would be able to advise them. The issue seems to be becoming more and more common. Some of these people need to get a grip and toughen up.

Prepare for numerous ‘celebrities’ coming out and bemoaning how they were treated and how tough it was.
Go figure?
This next one will probably be the last under the current format.
If I was a male dancer, I’d be keeping a long distance from my celeb.
Most will probably be looking for early elimination and leave it to the ladies.

I do have some sympathy for contestants especially those getting on a bit…learning new routines within a limited time period of a week must be very daunting and not something I think non dancers could have prepared themselves for.

I have zero sympathy. If they've seen the show they know what is involved. If they haven't they should check it out before they sign the contract. If they're daunted by it get a proper job!
