They've heard about Foxy then. Got to keep those girls safe somehow.

Not before time seeing how theses bullies are treating their partners…some of those professionals should remember that Strictly is a dance competition not an endurance/assault course.Stephen wrote: 16 Jul 2024, 16:46BBC to introduce Strictly Come Dancing chaperones https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv2gkrlvkyno

Some of the celebrities should remember it's a tough dance competition, not an easy ride.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2024
Chaperones protect both parties. Giovanni denies doing anything wrong. And no evidence has actually been made public in either case. So yes, good idea to protect celebs from any possibility of bullying. And to protect professionals from spurious allegations.Onelife wrote: 16 Jul 2024, 17:54Not before time seeing how theses bullies are treating their partners…some of those professionals should remember that Strictly is a dance competition not an endurance/assault course.Stephen wrote: 16 Jul 2024, 16:46BBC to introduce Strictly Come Dancing chaperones https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv2gkrlvkyno

If they’re not in it to win it then don’t bother turning up.

Too many snowflakes.
I suspect that some/part/all of the problem is that with these pairings there are two big personalities and that some of the "lesser" celebrities have too high an opinion of themselves and are not used to being told what to do. You don't hear any complaints from sports celebrities as they are well used to being told what to do and how to work hard.

Yes it's notable that one of the two complainants in particular wasn't doing well, which could have bruised her ego as well as making her pro up the training pressure.

I rather suspect the egos of professional dancers are far greater than that of most of the contestents….in a discipline that requires perfection it’s quite easy to understand how expectation becomes a tool to push the limits of what most would consider acceptable behaviour.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2024
Two declarations. I'm a Strictly fan. And if someone is physically abusive or cruel that is unacceptable. But isn't this all now becoming a bandwagon witch hunt? Can the DG saying sorry really be the top story on the BBC News website today?
Four celebs have complained. It has been accepted Zara was kicked. But Giovanni denies allegations about him and no conclusion has yet been reached. A Paralympian says he was made to do a jump that injured him. Why did he not refuse if he knew he couldn't do it? And the BBC refused him compo, presumably because their lawyers knew they had not been negligent. And a male celebrity, remaining anonymous, is upset because a female Pro shouted at him. Even if all these allegations were upheld they amount to around 1% of the celebs who've ever taken part. Time to draw a line methinks.

As I said before some of these "celebrities" have too high an opinion of themselves and cannot cope with being told the truth.

No worry Merv, it will be back for the autumn and contestants will be chaperoned in the dance studios.
Something you can look forward to, maybe even apply to be a chaperone yourself. Think how close you would be to the professionals.

Indeed, and let’s hope the remaining professionals have learned a valuable lesson in not thinking they can kick or use personal insults on their quest in lifting the Glitter Ball.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 23 Jul 2024, 13:55Two declarations. The evidence so far suggests most of them have been well aware of that for a long time.

So now we have the behind the scenes crew kicking off as a/some of the professionals have shouted at them.
Did all of this upset all go unnoticed?

I would suspect that it is no different to many other programs where egos are involved on one side and snowflakes on the other.Ray B wrote: 07 Aug 2024, 11:19So now we have the behind the scenes crew kicking off as a/some of the professionals have shouted at them.

The version of that I saw suggested much of the shouting and abuse was from some Celebs as well as some Pros.Ray B wrote: 07 Aug 2024, 11:19So now we have the behind the scenes crew kicking off as a/some of the professionals have shouted at them.

In my time I've experienced enough shouting, and been guilty of it, at work. It's hardly new or exclusive to Strictly.
