It would appear the courts are getting tough, most ,certainly in the NW are remanding to custody for sentencing whereas before most would have been bailed.

Good news - only one child from last week's attach is still in hospital, all the others have been discharged.

It is indeed. Thoughts remain with those who lost their children.

I try and avoid thinking about what it must be like for those bereaved families waking up every morning knowing what happened to their precious children….so very sad.

God alone knows how those children who were involved will cope with the horrors they experienced. Psychologically I suspect they and their parents will need a great deal of counselling help.

Two months prison sentence. That’s really sending out a strong message……not

Hardly a deterrent. Much of what I have seen is just wanton vandalism by teenagers and children taking advantage of the situation finding an excuse to smash, burn and steal.

Should be a minimum of 5 years. That would make them think twice.

Everything seems to be getting back to normal…only 697 migrants crossed the channel this past six days.

I'm sure these violent incidents are the work of a tiny minority of the population and none of us would condone them in any way. But as expressed before the government mustn't be blind to the root cause, which in my mind is past governments of both colours ignoring the concerns of a much larger proportion of the population about uncontrolled immigration. I have no problem at all with controlled and legal migration and welcome those who come here to work and integrate into our communities. But like many others I am concerned about the large numbers involved.

To put this in context the current government have trumpeted their target to build 300,000 new homes each year for the next five years to tackle the acute housing crisis. Let's hope they achieve it - no other government in recent years has met housing targets.

But even if they do, based on current average occupancy levels in the UK of 2.36 people per home, that is homes for 708,000 people per year. And with net migration of 685,000 last year that means only a 23,000 reduction in the problem each year. Shelter reckons 270,000 people are homeless in the UK. They are nowhere close to solving the problem. Until they do, sadly expect more of the same from the extremists, with silent support from a larger number of the population who don't enjoy the comforts most of us have.

Whilst I would not disagree about that the blue touch paper last week was, allegedly, about what happened in Southport. Initially it was because of false information spread on the Internet. The family involved in the Southport attack whilst being immigrants in no way are they illegal immigrants - in fact they have been in this country, legally, for around 20 years.

I hate to say it but this is more to do with colour than anything else by some factions and immigration is just a vehicle for the unrest.

Yes I agree, this family were totally legal. But most people don't see beyond the headline numbers. And my main point was they'll never solve the housing crisis without tackling rapid population growth, however it is caused.

I don’t think it has anything to do with colour its more to do with the feeling that our culture is becoming subservient to others, imo.

We don’t as yet know what the Southport murders motives were but you can guarantee that if it was extremist motivated it will ‘now’ be dressed up to be anything but.

That's more like it sentences of 20 & 30 months and three years https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cy8497l7dx8t

I bet there are others now regretting being involved.

Me neither. There are two main issues at play, integration into a British society and uncontrolled illegal immigration although the powers that be seem to be oblivious.

Diversity and multi-culturalism are not working and there is a great deal of resentment, frustration and to some extent fear out there as we see our culture gradually being eroded and replaced by an alien one.

How much longer can we afford taking in more and more immigrants to our shores whilst telling everybody else they have to face cutbacks.

Protest marches are planned. I hope they pass off peacefully but a great deal of work needs to be done both at local and national level.

Enoch Powell did warn of trouble ahead in his Rivers of Blood speech. Have we allowed the present situation happen?.......

For these dangerous and divisive elements the legislation proposed in the Race Relations Bill is the very pabulum they need to flourish. Here is the means of showing that the immigrant communities can organise tO consolidate their members, to agitate and campaign against their fellow citizens, and to overawe and dominate the rest with the legal weapons which the ignorant and the ill-informed have provided. As I look ahead, F am filled with foreboding: like the Roman, I seem to see "the River Tiber foaming with much blood.
That tragic and intractable phenomenon which we watch with horror on the other side of the Atlantic but which there is interwoven with the history and existence of the States itself, is coming upon us here by our own volition and our own neglect. Indeed, it has all but come. In numerical terms, it will be of American proportions long before the end of the century.
Only resolute and urgent action will avert it even now. Whether there will be the public will to demand and obtain that action, I do not know. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

I don't want to be rascist, I would love to live alongside any ethnic minority group in peaceful coexistance. But the cultural differences of the largest ethnic group are just too far away from ours, to make this either likely or pleasurable.
As others have said, until the government (Liberal Southern Elite) recognise that this is the view of large numbers of the indigenous population, and start to address this, then I worry that the rabble rousing far right will find ample fuel to continue with these "protests".
