Watch out, watch out...

There appears to be a Lloyds bank scam doing the rounds at the moment…our neighbour had an automated call yesterday from what appeared to be a Lloyd’s fraud department saying there were unusual unauthorised transactions on their account…press one to hear more, press two to speak to a Lloyds representative…she pressed two and was put through a man going by the name of Ian Atkinson (retired head of fraud, Lloyds bank)…thankfully she had the presence of mind to say she would ring back (after being told several thousand pounds had been taken from her account via international transactions)

Her husband was at our house having a glass of wine when she arrived, flustered and upset, she then proceeded relay what had happened and both me and my wife said this could be a scam…as it turned out it was a scam with her husband calmly taking control of what on this occasion turned out to be a happy outcome…. Blow me down, but we had the same phone call this morning which could mean they are targeting specific areas….so just in case yours is next do be on your guard.
