Saga Scandinavian Islands
Well booked this cruise in September last year, first time with Saga.
Did not realise then what a difficult year this would be with both mum and dad passing away within a week of each other and my husband being poorly.
Anyway our son is going to look after his dad and the dog who has also been unwell with a couple of visits to the vets.
My friend is being collected from Derbyshire and me from Swansea coincidentally we both have the same pick up time of 9.20am. So don't think I will arrive in Dover until about 3pm.
Am quite apprehensive about the saga experience will it be for me,will see how it all pans out.
The weather is looking very good.
I will hopefully post a few thought as we go along.
Sailing on Wednesday.

Re: Saga Scandinavian Islands
Hopefully you'll love it as we did Lindsey when we had our first Saga cruise last month.
Make sure you check out the ice cream machine near the pool area where you help yourself. Lovely
If you want to know anything else I'll try and help if I can.

Having a really good time do far.
Driver was early picking me up, traffic not too bad arrived at Dover 1pm. Check in was quick and soon on board
Cabin on A deck.
So far extremely impressed with the Saga product. High quality food very generous with the drinks. High ratio of staff to passenger and nothing is too much trouble.
Been lucky with the weather so far lovely sunshine.
Oslo yesterday and Gothenburg today.
Take care all

Lindsey, first impressions give the cruise a good start,so I do hope you have a great time, don't eat to much ice cream, and take some wonderful memories home with you.
Don't worry, be happy

Re: Saga Scandinavian Islands
We have become hooked on Saga. We did our first just before Covid and the did a back to back Caribbean and canaries earlier this year. Now counting down to Caribbean in November. There’s nothing not to like. It was good to see standards had been maintained pre-covid to present. We don’t normally do this much cruising but a special year, Husband 70. Our golden wedding this week and I am retiring in a few weeks.

Pam & Neil, it looks like you have a lot to celebrate, and what better place than the Caribbean. Enjoy.

Thank you for your good wishes. For the 70th earlier in the year, on the day there was a bottle of Fizz on ice. Chocolates and a voucher to present at the restaurant for a cake. The bed was covered in balloons and towels were arranged into a multi tier cake. It was the over such a lovely gesture.

Scandinavia has been very kind to us non stop sunshine all the way. The Captain mentioned it was a record when were in Visby 29.2 degrees.
Just docking in Copenhagen this morning.
Pleased to report everything has been exceptional.

Re: Saga Scandinavian Islands
Been back almost 2 weeks now,so have had time to reflect on the Saga experience.
So impressed. I wasn't sure if Saga would fit me ,I thought it would be ful of elderly passengers, how wrong I was.
Passengers were full of life and as Stephen has commented hardly any walkers or wheelchairs.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean. High ratio of staff to passenger, they couldnt do enough for you. and plenty of variety of food and excellent quality.
Well I must have enjoyed it because my cruise companion and I have booked 2 Saga Cruises for next year, am cancelling my P and O ones apart from ou Iona December Christmas markets cruise.

Re: Saga Scandinavian Islands
It's many years since we were on Saga, in fact our first cruise was on Saga Rose and we have cruised ever since. We were impressed by the whole cruising experience and the attention to detail you get with Saga. It seemed nothing was too much trouble and the level of care was outstanding. Saga is more expensive than other cruise lines but it's true, you get what you pay for.
I was taught to be cautious
