As I understand things, the investigations by the BBC are still ongoing… perhaps because they know what is coming?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 02 Oct 2024, 16:55I've no doubt he has been given the full details of the conclusions of the investigation, which neither you nor I have. But even on the summary released to the world I cannot see 6-11 as a win for her. Yes he probably shouted. Maybe swore. But he apparently was not violent or physical as she alleged. Bullying is wrong. But so are false allegations.

You apparently know more than I do. Every report I've read said the investigation had concluded.

Can we not now give it a rest. With all the crap going on in the world is this all we can argue about, how someone had their feelings hurt in a bl**dy dance contest. Give me strength.

I'm happy to oblige as I think the discussion has reached its conclusion... that is, until you’re all eating “humble pie”

Has it never courred to you Onelife that you being out of step with most others on the forum, could mean that it's you that has the wrong opinions, rather than everyone else?Onelife wrote: 02 Oct 2024, 16:13Ok’ Sir Merv, if that’s the way you want to see things, but mark my words, you will all be telling me what “humble pie” tastes like before this if finished![]()

A bit like the phone call...
" Be careful. Dad there's a car driving down the motorway the wrong way."
"One car???? There's dozens of them!!!!"
OL's ability to defend the indefensible is quite an endearing characteristic. Amazing how he dreams them up with such conviction
I think he just winds us up and I'm daft enough to fall for it

It’s a bit like the teacher saying to his pupil…. “Why don’t you see things the way other children see things”? The pupil replies…” because they believe what they see, whereas I question what I see”.oldbluefox wrote: 03 Oct 2024, 13:14A bit like the phone call...

Btw, did you watch News-night last night...I didn't see someone who was fabricating the truth.

Was there an actress on who made 11 unfounded allegations putting on a stellar performance and is still whingeing?

This seems simple. The BBC has cleared him of the most serious allegations. She accused him, falsely according to that conclusion, of physical assault. She says video evidence exists. That would be a criminal matter so report him to the police.

As yet the BBC haven’t been required to release the video footage, if this happens more qualified persons will be able to say whether or not she is justified in making the accusations….I will, as always, be the first to put my hands up if there is no case to answer….which leave me wondering which of you will be the first to eat humble pie if it is proven she is telling the truth.

It doesn't take an expert to judge whether physical abuse is taking place but I repeat my suggestion. Report it to the police.Onelife wrote: 03 Oct 2024, 15:59As yet the BBC haven’t been required to release the video footage, if this happens more qualified persons will be able to say whether or not she is justified in making the accusations….I will, as always, be the first to put my hands up if there is no case to answer….which leave me wondering which of you will be the first to eat humble pie if it is proven she is telling the truth.
My other question is why she didn't walk out sooner. She claims she was abused for 7 hours a day for 7 weeks. I've personally known women who really have been verbally and physically abused. They found it hard to escape because they were married with children and it meant leaving their home. But they did it. She was in a dance studio. Why didn't she just say that's it, stuff your programme. And sue me for walking out if you dare.

I would much rather an expert judge what constitutes physical abuse rather than a company that has it reputation to uphold. She did however, report his behaviour after only three days of rehearsals.
Having known women who have been verbally abused they will no doubt have told you about what’s starts out as a few 'put downs' can soon escalate to a point where they start losing their self-confidence and resilience to do anything about it. Watching the Newsnight interview last night, there were certain similarities in Amanda’s version of what took place during her time on Strictly.
There certainly seems to be a lot of Wus’s/Snowflakes working for Strictly… both past and present.

Must say some of the young people I have seen and come across need a good shake and rattling around - pathetic, self entitled, world owes them a living, they need their heads given a wobble to bring them into the real world. I fear for our future given the attitude of some.

I think part of the problem is that kids are taught to grow up to fast, and in doing so fail to learn the skills that give them the right attitudes to achieve realistic life goals. Many live their lives through watching how others lead their lives (social media) and believe their lives should replicate those who pump out this unrealistic trash.
We are witnessing a “Why can’t I have what they have” disillusionment which eventually leads many kids thinking life isn’t fair, the repercussions of this being lack of self-confidence, no motivation, and a lack of respect for authority and those around them. Imo.

Actually she spoke out early on, and was one of those interviewed by the BBC for their review. So she is just reiterating her earlier views.Onelife wrote: 05 Oct 2024, 13:47Pleased to see Laura Whitmore has spoken out in support of Amanda’s accusations….hopefully legal action will follow?
