The World id Going Crazy
Yesterday was the final stage in converting our Broadband over to fibre. When the Openreach (aka BT) engineer came to do the necessary work there was a problem that when the other Openreach engineers installed cable they had used the wrong connection so he had to get it sorted. So what does he do - he rings the Openreach fibre HQ which is in India!

We had Fibrus installed by a couple of Polish chaps. All very straightforward and if you have a query their customer service is in Ireland, thankfully. It's a huge improvement on Talktalk and their Indian call centres.

I was with BT but they are moving their domestic customers to EE. I have to say that EE customer service is amongst the best that I have encountered. The staff are knowledgable, listen to what you say and actually answer the question that you have asked. Not only that they all speak English (well the ones that I have had dealings with do) and I get the impression that they work from home and not only that are local.

My BT line was converted to Virgin as that's who I have my email, broadband and tv with, occasional problems but not too bad. As far as the switch over was concerned, I received a Dongle in the post but when the engineer appeared he said he didn't need that and sorted the conversion without it.

Our block of flats has just been rewired ready for full fibre broadband, one of the Openreach engineers said there are now about 200 fibre broadband companies, so I guess we will shortly be inundated with offers from quite a few.
However unless it's cheaper than we currently pay for superfast broadband with Sky, then we won't be bothering. That is way more than adequate for what we require, so unless it's dirt cheap, we won't be signing up.
