Sir Chris Hoy

Unread post by david63 »

Sad news today that one of our greatest Olympians has terminal prostrate cancer and has been given between two and four years to live and he is only 48.

Goes to show that cancer can affect anybody and that being physically fit and having some of the best medical and nutritional advice that there is makes no difference.

This story gets even worse when you read that his wife has recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis

Makes you wonder whether cycling contributed to his diagnosis?

Trouble is you don't know you've got it and by then it may be too late. Best to get a PSA test and have it checked. Catch it early and it can be easily treated.

But you got a service on your heart first and got prostate cancer treatment on a BOGOF deal soon afterwards.

Not true he bribed the surgeon with Green Shield stamps and a couple of plastic daffodils.

Yes that is so true. Early symptoms are so vague and a little embarrassing so too many men ignore them. By the time you get aches and pains, like Sir Chris did, it's often too late.

Indeed it is sad news but hopefully it will encourage more men to go and get themselves tested.

It's an interesting radio show as it's done on screen and you get to see Merv in his true colours.

PS Merv, OL says can he have his luminous green mankini back?
