Todays results

1.20 Sixandahalf… 2nd
2.0 Springwell Bay… Fell-Fatal :( …The Other Mossie 7th ( Pompey had the winner Caldwell Potter 7/1)
2.40 Will the Wise… 6th
4.40 Jagwar 1st…3/1 took 4/1
5.20 Daily Present 1st 12/1 took 28/1

Total stake £26 Total return £170
Onelife.... can only applaud you for your excellent choices in the last two races
you must be feeling especially pleased at getting that huge 28/1 instead of the 12/1 when the race started .

It looks like you've spent about £85 and those winnings more than cover that and you may get another winner tomorrow ( Hopefully )
I think that the ones teasing you will have to admit you've done pretty well.

Thanks Pompy, had I placed the bet the night before I could have got 33/1 about Daily Present…they must have shovelled the money on to return that starting price.

I don’t know if you are aware of this, but ITV racing do a competition aptly named ITV 7. The competion is free to enter and runs three to four times throughout the week. This week in particular it has a rolling price fund amounting to £500,000 doubled if Lulmbada wins the first race tomorrow. There are no catches to entering other than signing up for it, and no you don’t get bombarded with junk. I’ve been doing it for a few years now (never won) but there are regular winners during the week.

Take a look, as I say it is free to enter and all above board.

https://itv7.itv.com/

The other thing is that it gives you a bit of interest without having to place a bet.

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. When I left my country estate to place my bet “yesterday” the price of “Daily Present” was 28/1 and as Betfred give best odds guaranteed that was what I was expecting, however in the time it took me to drive down my mile long country estate road… waving to the Chickens and Deer enroute the price had been pushed out to 33/1 so yesterday’s returns now stand at £195

I note that we have some bad losers on the forum so I’ll have to applaud myself with plenty of these

Ok not too long before the first race......I think two of the horses chosen by Onelife have a very good chance of winning

so these are my choices.....
1:20 race going for Lazoc as my £1 e/way bet but also going to put £2 win on East India Dock ( I would have gone for Hello Neighbour but Onelife got there first )
2:00 race Pinot Gris £2 e/way ......Again I like the choice of Onelife for Kargese maybe I should slip a £1 win on it
3:3o race I don't know if I should pick Ballybrow or Flicker of Hope so I'll put £1 win on bfoth....wow what a huge amount i'm betting
4:40 race WhatA Glance £2 e/way + £1 win on favourite Angels Dawn
5:20 race East India Express £2 e/way but I nearly went for Onelifes Wodhooh

I might go for a small 50p accumulator on some of these favourites

As the sun goes down, we celebrate the champions but also the also rans who have provided the best four days of NH racing you will ever find.
From a betting perspective most bookies will need wheel barrows to take home their spoils. Big priced winners and beaten favourites will have taken their toll on most punters pockets but I’m in no doubt most will still leave the hallowed grounds of Prestbury Park with a smile on their face.

Wouldn’t you just know Gavin Cromwell would come along and spoil Galopins party. That wasn’t Galopins running but take nothing away from the winner who ran away with it. It’s entered up for the National and will more than likely be favourite…but I doubt very much that they will risk running it in that race.

Today’s Results

1.20 Hello Neighbour... 6th
2.0 Kargese ...1st £3/1 took 7/2
240 Wingman... 6th
4.20 It’s on the line... 2nd
5.20 Wadhooh... 1st 9/2 took 8/1

Total stake £25 Total Return £72.50

My thanks to Pompy for his contribution to this thread.

Well it was disappointing to see Galopin des Champs lose on the third attempt and this is just like when W.Mullins & Paul Townend also tried to win a third Gold Cup this time with Al Bourm Album in 2021...am pretty sure followers of the Gold Cup will remember that.

However I have some good news about the race....I didn't arrive at the betting shop until about 3:35 and although ( at the time ) I was sure Galopin Des Champs was going to win...I thought I'd make a bet on an unlikely big priced outsider to grab a place and did my usual £2 e/way and decided Gentlemansgame would be my gamble....and it paid off and I ended up with £18 ( I thought I'd receive £20 but I'm not complaining )

So as I'd arrived late all I had was the last 2 races...4:40 race my £2 e/way on What a Glance failed as did my £1 win on Angels Dawn
5:20 race £2 e/way on East Indian Express lost .....anyway this was the last race and I already had £18 in winnings. I said earlier today that I was thinking of going for Onelifes Wadhooh....so I did and put £2 win on it as I loved it's unbeaten record on the jumps
Couldn't stop to watch the race but as you all know it won and I'm guessing at 9/2 I should get an extra £9

That's my lot now until the Grand National

Onelife was really unlucky in the 4:20 with Its On The Line losing by just a neck.

Hi Pompy, well done in banging in those two bets. You would have been right in your assumption of winning £20 however it was a none handicap race which are calculated out at 1/5th of the odds for a place.

If you sign up for the Sporting Life you can access all Cheltenham race recordings, all of which can be accessed ten minutes after each race.

The jockey rode a blinder on Wodooh.
