On a very slight negative, has anyone ever seen a worse effort for Cup Final coverage than this one by ITV?

I thought it was absolutely appalling! Adrian Boring-Brummie with Mr Personality Roy Keane as the 'expert'
Then Andy ( I once played against Figo) Townsend with the commentary.
Maybe he works a bit on radio but we don't need someone to tell us what we are actually watching.

Have they never watched Sky coverage of football? ITV have a lot to learn.
I would have thought that one of the jobs of a presenter would be to be fairly impartial (ex-players excepted who are bound to have leanings). I thought Adrian Chiles' unadulterated glee at the Wigan win was a touch unprofessional. And as for asking Mancini about his future in the job so soon after a defeat wasn't good journalism IMO either.

I love Sky for football, the emotions run so high , the presenters are so animated.
Those lot yesterday on ITV would bore you to death.

I tune the commentators out. Many a time my daughter will exclaim 'rubbish' or some other comment and I ask her what did you say that for. Then she tells me that is what the commentator has just said. After all, when you are at a game, you don't have one talking at you. I find Niall Quinn extremely biased in favour of Manchester City and pretty much all the commentators state the glaringly obvious. As for Mancini being asked about his future, well it's going to be a talking point and the journalist/tv man who gets anything like a response will have stolen a march on his rivals. They don't care about the person whose livelihood may be in jeopardy, they just want headlines.

Congratulations to Watford, and commiserations to Leicester.

Looks like Leicester missed a penalty which would have all but put them through.

An extraordinary finish to a fantastic game...Leicester just one kick away from Wembley and the Watford keeper saved it, not only that but he saved the follow up as well...brilliant....Watford then moved the ball down to the other end and scored a great goal...Jonathan Hogg knocked the ball back for Troy Deeney who almost broke the back of the net.

The game had everything drama, hope, joy, despair..everything that the Championship and the play-offs is all about.

Hard luck Leicester, you nearly made it.

By the way...It was never a penalty but for what it's worth it was the only mistake that Michael Oliver made the whole game.

Now remember that was just a warm up for tomorrow night..If Watford v Leicester was good then you ain't seen nothing yet.

Anyone got £1,000,000 to spare? Just petty cash expenses for Premiership clubs!

I rashly went on Adonia to Venice on 17th April - missing last 2 games of season. What happens??? Not only does Aldershot get relegated from League 2 but went into Administration owing £1m - I did try to enjoy the 2nd half of the holiday but it was difficult!!!

Waiting for a saviour now before 8th June - then possibly we may go to Conference - otherwise may go out of business completely -just for the want of £1m -

Following all the end of season ups and downs with interest. Well done to Watford and Wigan - good luck Palace.

 Thanks Helen and Mob.

I have a feeling we will need all the luck we can get......

H...there's still plenty of football to watch, outside of the premiership....mind 3 O' Clock kick off on a Saturday afternoon might become a bit of a novelty.....I think I read that Tottenham have had just two Saturday 3 pm kick offs all season..

Thanks for your good wishes too...I am also so sorry to hear about the Shots...You poor fans....I really genuinely hope that someone, somewhere, comes along and gets Aldershot out of their financial mess....

It is so very wrong that a club can nearly be put out of business like this when the game generates billions in this country...What's a million quid to the Premier League...Nothing...to smaller clubs it is life and death, quite literally.

The Final should have a few goals to watch  but apart from winning I am really looking forward to Olly droning on about how unfair it is for Watford to play ' loanees ' ...

What is it with top flight football these days? It's quite pathetic. The headlines today are all about Mancini being sacked. 12 months after winning the premier league, coming a clear second this year and FA Cup semi-finalists. Then there's Rooney sulking like the petulant child he is. And don't mention Chelsea - just don't!

Against that, there's the genuine joy of PTE's Palace reaching the play-off final. Well done. Only thing is, I just feel that whoever loses the final will be the winners. Get into the premier league and all the fun stops.

Jill

I plan to visit the Shots web site every day to find out what happens.

The Palace were brilliant last night, nobody gave us a chance before the game but we deserved it...didn't we.

So it's Loanee United v Palace at Wembley...I can't wait...I hope Watfordi win but I don't want Palace to lose....I know that don't make sense but I know what I mean.

MoB....Nobody at Palace has critised Watford for getting in loan players from Italy....all Holloway has pointed out is that there is a loop hole in the loan system that should be closed.

Watford found a loop hole in that system and used it to their advantage and good luck to them..look where they are, but that does not mean that the failings of the loan system should not be discussed and that is all Holloway was doing...Every club in the Football League has loan players but it is unfair that a clubs loanees are restricted when using British players but a club can have as many loan players as they wish if those players comes from foreign clubs....A fact missed by many, even Holloway said he hadn't thought about that until someone pointed it out to him...

There is a lot of vitriol about Manchester United but at least they didn't sack Sir Alex when we won nowt. If an employer terminates an employee's contract, surely it is only right that they be recompensed? Blame the players, not the manager, he has proven himself elsewhere.
