That was a typical unsafe selfish Max move and I'm glad he got the penalty. In fact he was lucky it was only 5 seconds. It's usually 10 but they're lenient with first lap and especially first corner incidents.

Re: F1 2025
So who would have thought that Max would win this last race...maybe what helped was Verstappen ran with a new floor in Miami, which seemingly did not make any difference, but in Imola they revised the rear of the car, including the suspension to optimise airflow, and, notably, had a new engine cover shape which looked similar to the McLaren.
Horner revealed the RB21 is in a "better window" as they have "taken away the sliding", which allows the drivers to manage the temperatures of the tyre and push harder too.
I think Red Bull really need to get Tsunoda to add a few more points than he's getting.
And what about Ferrari....Hamilton really did well and they say Leclerc was unfortunate with the timing of the Virtual Safety Car and Safety Car, so settled for sixth behind Williams' Alex Albon.
Rubens Barrichello is now 52: Dominates NASCAR Brazil ...to win first two races. Won 11 races in F1

Re: F1 2025
It was good to see Lewis go from 12th to 4th. At least Ferrari seem to be making progress, or at least Lewis is getting used to the set up. I hope Maclaren get themselves sorted out for the next race but I'm not keen on the Monaco race, no overtaking, or very rarely without crashing. Can be a very boring race to watch. Lovely scenery!

Re: F1 2025
I'm enjoying the season so far with less predictable results and Max not getting his own way all the time. His overtake on the first corner was brilliant and probably won the race, though the timing of the VSC favoured him and let him get a free pit stop. Without that it could have been much closer.

Well that's some starting grid for today......Lando Norris at the top with Oscar in 3rd. Ferrari with Leclerc going well in 2nd place & Hamilton was in 4th place but got demoted to 7th place for impeding Max. George Russell could only make place 14 on the grid
Red Bulls Yuki Tsunoda only makes 12th place....he really needs to do better.

Well that was the Monaco Grand Prix. The excitement comes from the skill as they(the drivers) drive the cars at speed around the tight corners. The race was interesting to watch, the excitement mounting on the last few laps as Verstappen hung on in the hope of a red flag that would give him the win, behind, Leclerc was almost up Lando's exhaust hoping for a mistake to pass, which we all knew was unlikely to happen.
Well done Lando.
Well done Lando.

Re: F1 2025
I saw the start of the F2 race before....what a huge pile up that was....and Martins with annoyance said about Dunne
"Who does he think he is, Max Verstappen?"
Pleased as well that Lando won the race, I'm thinking Leclerc must have been a bit upset that he couldn't repeat the win he had last year. Liam Lawson did much better and both Racing Bulls managed to get points.
Be interesting to see how well Hamilton goes in the Spanish Grand Prix

I was surprised one of the Red Bull B Team wasn't encouraged to crash to help Max. Wouldn't be the first time.

Merv, THAT would have caused an uproar amongst F1 fans and as for the teams they would be spitting fire.

I know. But it happened once before in 2008 in Singpapore. Renault on that occasion. And there have been suspicious incidents since.

Re: F1 2025
So George Russell on his collision with Max said " it felt deliberate in the moment
Max was asked in interview.....My first question is, was the move on George intentional ?
and what was the reply by Max.......does it matter
then he said " I prefer to speak about the race not one incident " of course you would Max
Then he had a moan that the hard tyres he was on limited his grip.
Lando quipped he had done the same on Mario Kart
Max was punished by dropping to 10th place

Max shows his true colours and for once gets penalised. He's arrogant and dangerous.

Re: F1 2025
That was dangerous. He should have been disqualified. I think he got, three penalty points on his super licence, in addition to the 10 second time penalty. This takes him up to 11 points. If he accrues 12 penalty points in 12 months he gets a one race ban. I think he should have been given four points which would have earned him a ban. As it is he must avoid getting one more point during the next two races, which is when his current year expires.

Re: F1 2025
Good to see George Russell win but of course Red Bull & Max had to make a protest that he had breached rules by driving erratically behind the Safety Car as the race finished.
It was good that Norris owned up to his mistake but it shouldn't have happened at all
Seems to be a few rumours going around about who is going to drive for Alpine next year & also talk about if Perez is going to return to F1 driviing for Cadillac

It was a silly mistake made by Lando, a moment of frustration maybe. He did have the better drive, and not being able to complete a pass on Oscar may have led to taking a plunge into a closing gap.
Well done George.

Yes good result for George and silly move by Lando. But he had the grace to apologise immediately and fortunately didn't take out Oscar. And typical Max and Red Bull. If they can't win on the track they'll try to get an advantage by whinging. George did nothing Max hasn't done himself before.

McLaren still very strong. Max got smashed out of the race by Antonelli and still the rumours persist about his possible switch to Mercedes
Seems to me that Red Bull only have one proper driver.....Tsunoda is not doing enough ...he needs to improve or he'll be out the door
Hamilton actually came 4th....still hasn't made the podium.
How soon before Alpine get a new driver.....just wondering

Very good start to the race Pompey with the two Mclarens dueling for the lead. With Verstappen being knocked out, we missed seeing him fight his way to the front, certainly took any pressure off the other drivers. Him and George may have been exciting as have been in the past.
Once Lando established a lead, rather tame for the rest of the race until 10 laps from home, would his team mate Oscar Piastri be able to catch him and another duel to win. It wasn't to be.

Don't know if you saw these after race commnents....
Oscar Piastri expressed frustration with Alpine, his former team, over the radio, stating they "still manage to find a way to f*** me over all these years later". This outburst stemmed from incidents with Alpine drivers Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly during the race, where Piastri felt they hindered his progress.

Interesting comments from the Sky experts, suggesting that the Red Bull car is so heavily set up for Max's driving style, that no one else can drive it.Portsmouth wrote: 30 Jun 2025, 11:35McLaren still very strong. They seemed oblivious to what was happening around them, caught up in thier own little battle. It did cost Oscar time.Portsmouth wrote: 30 Jun 2025, 14:28Don't know if you saw these after race commnents....

If the rumours are true and Max may go to Mercedes next year I can't see George Russell staying with Mercedes. George and Max would be worse team mates than Lewis and Nico turned out to be. If Max moves then maybe George would be forced to move.

It's just amazing how all the very hot weather takes a break for Silverstone, here in Sea Palling it was monsoon rain. It did make a very interesting stop start to the race. We done Lando for winning while a great moment for Nico Hulkenberg after working his way through the grid, and for many long years he stepped on the podium .

Yes great result, though I think the penalty for Oscar was harsh compared to others recently.
