Another Royal Folly.

Post by Onelife »

I would imagine you Royalist will be jumping up and down with excitement at the thought of having another statue of the late Queen Elizabeth?

Plonked in St James Park with an estimated cost of anything between £26 - £46 million you’ll no doubt be delighted public money is going to worthy causes…I also hear they are thinking of spending a few £million on one for Phil as well  .
How’s the bad-tempered Willie doing these days? I hear he’s not too pleased having been told he’s got to get off his a*se and put in a fair day’s work  - for the few months of the year he works. I also hear that he played his face having been told he must attend Royal Ascot…. I loved watching him traveling down the Ascot mile with a face like thunder…no wonder daddy didn’t want to speak to him. But hey! Only the more observant will have spotted this, it's no wonder there is also a rumour floating around that Kathrine can’t stand him either.

Well, I'll be blowed....One Life making an Anti-Royal post
Everyone seemed to be ignoring your post but for fun I thought I'd reply.... :P

I actually like seeing statues of famous people around much more so than the meaningless abstract works of art scattered around ( although to be fair there are a few good ones about as well )
So I'm in favour of a Queen Elizabeth statue.....the part I do agree with you is the ridiculous amount of money being spent.
Up to £40 million.....Really...why that much ? Just seems a crazy amount of money for a statue.

Bad tempered Willie as you call him did have a smile or two at Ascot....again I kinda agree with you & do think that perhaps the Prince of Wales could do a few more days working but there may be reasons we are not aware of for not being out & about as much as some other Royals.

I think it's a bit cheeky you having a pop at the Royals when I think you may be acting like a dictator on your vast estate.
I have pictures in my mind of you walking up to the large purpose built enclosure....where the hens are .....and just because you don't want them roaming free on your estate you keep them trapped ....no wonder poor Whinny was trying to escape ...and what about poor old Buffy shes desperate to escape and keeps running away from you because she gets tired of the republican slogans you keep yelling at her

Just think, if we were a republican state we could have statues to the likes of Donald Trump.

Sounds to me like OL has just found out he's not been awarded a gong again.
Do you know if you can put names forward for deporting to the US and how much it costs? Or the republics of China and N Korea? ;)

Oh I do wish you hadn't :D OL's anti royalist posts are so tedious. I had hoped that after 24 hours with no replies to it we had all sub consciously banded together to ignore it. IMHO that is the best way to treat it. And, no, I am not a rabid Monarchist. I just detest his skewed comments on the individuals.

Good for you Pompey :sarcasm: :) …. I can only presume my Royalist friends were struggling to find the words to justify why we need to spend £40 million on another statue. Plus a few more £million on one of Phil…I mean she (the late Queen) already has four statues scattered around the country (with two more pending) …give me a break, whoever dreams up these money wasting ideas need shooting.

I’m not going to take offence as to how I treat the staff and chickens…unlike some I grafted for the best part of my working life and can see no reason why my staff shouldn’t follow my fine example…as for Whinny escaping her purpose build, free range facility we resorted to clipping her wings which worked for a while but we'll now have to see if she can do the same with only one leg…poor Whinny!

Whilst I have said on many occasions that our political system is broken, that isn’t to say it can’t be mended, but come on, do we really need all the junk that goes with it?

If anything is Skewed it is that we are still holding onto this self-appointed relic of the past…. time to move on and stop this nonsense of kings, Queens, fairy tale Princes, Princesses, Dukes, Duchess, Earls, Knights, Dames, Viscounts and any other titles the Monarchy wishes to dream up.

It might be an idea to change your damp pillowcase in the morning as you'll probably fall asleep with tears pouring from your eyes....
Stay strong.....you've still got the support of Jeremy Corbyn you can turn to.

I'm surprised you want to be associated with such a motley crew of Welsh and Scottish nationalists who don't necessarily reflect the views of their voters with a load of oddbods thrown in.
I wonder how many will be cowtowung to His Majesty if the occasion arises like Humza Yusuf when the Queen died. Hypocrites.

Hi Foxy, apologies for my late reply… I’ve just got back from tasting the cuisine that the Royal at Hay- on-Wye has on offer (definitely not up to the standards my chef dishes up)

I’m sure the SNP motives for an elected head of sate differ from mine, but it would bring us both closer to what we want. :)

Give me some credit…I did leave a “Not My King” banner over the entrance to the car park. ;)
