Totally agree Merv, but we have had a lot of nit picking from the stewards lately. Max made a bit of a meal over it.

No change there then! I was devastated (not much) when he spun. Silly boy.

Re: F1 2025
At last, Hamilton back in fighting mode.....coming from the pit lane to end up in 7th place & would probably made 6th but for being under fueled
He made a great decision being the first driver to change to slicks.

Great drive. And great result for me as Smashtaffen falls further behind in the Championship.

Re: F1 2025
Well that was a surprise for the Hungarian line up......Leclerc in pole position and what about they way Aston Martin improved to land 5th & 6th
Max has been complaining about the car and ended up in 8th but has now confirmed he will be at Red Bull next year.
Hamilton was moaning about how useless he was and could only manage a poor 12th position but I have a feeling that he will do much better in the actual race.

When Max wins it's because he's the greatest driver ever. When he doesn't it's the car or someone else's fault. Do I detect a pattern?

I thought Lando drove a magnificent one stop race, to preserve his tyres and fight off Piastri's late charge.

I agree but lets not forget that Leclerc would probably have a podium position if it wasn't for the problem he had with the cars chassis which made the car harder to drive from lap 40

I'm quietly amused by a post on Facebook by a Max sycophant who says he is the greatest driver ever and in his prime (he finished 9th) and Lewis is a has been (just 3 places behind!)

He ended in the same position, summer break now and I hope he comes back and gives us some 'Hammer time' and show us the real Hamilton.Portsmouth wrote: 03 Aug 2025, 09:56

He's got a long way to go to fill Hamilton's shoes.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 04 Aug 2025, 14:22I'm quietly amused by a post on Facebook by a Max sycophant who says he is the greatest driver ever and in his prime (he finished 9th) and Lewis is a has been (just 3 places behind!)
But, when I watched his first races, he drove fearlessly, and at the time I did say that there is a future F1 winner.
He did show a bit of that on Sunday when he came wheel to wheel with I think it was Russell, exciting overtake.

Re: F1 2025
Well it looks like Max could well win the Baku race.....and its good that Yuki Tsunoda is in a close 6th starting place. Can he actually have a good race for once as he has been such a disappointment although not always his fault. Oscar & Lando will have plenty to do to get on the podium. I was thinking that Hamilton would do better but he's only 12th.
This might make the race more interesting with Sainz and Lawson starting in second & third rather than the McLarens being up there.

Based on the qualification Q1,2 and 3, could be a few stops in today's race.

Good to see George Russell get another win this year...stopped Max getting 3 wins in a row.
Yuki Tsunoda gets another low position and no points.

I like George, comes across as a nice guy and would liked to have seen him do better, but the Merc just fails to do anything against Red Bull and McLaren so Sunday was special.

I notice Max was getting his excuses in early with complaints about the car over the radio.

Re: F1 2025
And now people are starting to ask the question....can he really do it ?
Only 40 points away from Oscar and if Max wins the 2 remaining sprints as well that might make a difference
Now second in the betting ....the bookies think it's possible
So can the so called arrogant Max prove everyone wrong with his determination to be at the top.....GO Go Max

He may be a great driver, but he is arrogant. His current improved form is zero to do with him. The engineers have sorted the car out.

Re: F1 2025
I used to think Michael was arrogant but Max leaves him standing. To me he comes over as a most unpleasant guy. He's only to ready to blame the engineers if things go wrong but I don't hear him throwing praise around very often when things are good.

What a great result for Lando and over half a minute before Charles passed the line. You have to admire Max, chance taken away to fight to the end for second position by a VSC.
Max starting in P5 was always a contender in what was a very exciting race.

Seem to be a few stories going around ...Lando is the one McLaren really want to be world champion & are the rumours true about Mark Weber manager of Oscar looking into a seat with Ferrari in 2027 for Oscar ? Hamilton was unhappy about getting a 10 second penalty & Lawson was not happy about stewards running across the track

Re: F1 2025
I don't agree about Max. He's had enough victories aided by a Safety Car, including snatching a Championship. About time he saw the other side.
