and I am regretting doing so
our current house was a new build and we saw it being built from day1 and we have never had the slightest issue
so I hope the next one is the same, if not they will feel the full force of the wrath of Lady Dark , which is not for the faint hearted :problem: :problem:

Its all a learning curve - my daughter used to laugh at me when I wrote complaints letters and copied the md in - she's learnt fast to go to the top to get anything done and writes a mean letter now!

Hi DK

We recently changed insurers and found it easy. Best advice I can come up with go to a price comparison site, go for new for old. My experience unless you have a missing Van Gogh or Renoir stashed blanket cover with a good upper limit is fine. We went to a certain website and got excellent home and contents cover through Swinton at a great price - and got a free Meerkat added in -- simples

The problem with insurance comparison sites is that not all insurance companies allow their data to be used. Also my understanding is that they are "loaded" in such a way that "whoever is paying the piper" comes out top and it is not a level playing field. You need to use several sites in order to get an overall picture - and then consider those companies that are not in the comparison site system.
