Hi Pompey, with regard to Lord Bertie’s run I agree with you that his best races are when he’s up with the pace, however, the frustrating part is that he now looks a perpetual slow/sluggish starter which obviously doesn’t help his chances. I personally don’t think the apprentice jockey had any influence over how the horse exited the stalls.

I didn’t take the 9/1 so got the sp return of 5/1 which returned £10 of my £20 bet.

Not a good day atheraces but if Foxy sends the Baked Beans I should survive until next week’s good things  :)

Hi Onelife, sometimes its good to think ahead.....do you remember last years Grand National won by I am Maximus @7/1 and then he came 2nd this year (top weight ) against Nicks Rockett. Here's an idea maybe just take a chance with a very early anti-post bet maybe £1 e/way.
I am Maximus is I believe 25/1 at Bet Fred, you won't get that price after Christmas.maybe you prefer something else but a fun tiny bet really early might give you something to look forward to
Nick Rockett who won last year is also 25/1 (a W Mullins horse.)

As my long standing friend you can now take advantage of Foxy's new betting app. Send your money via Union Credit to my Nigerian bank account and I'll do the rest!!! Mates rates apply.

Hi Pompey, I can see your logic and for a fun bet of £1ew it is something to consider, however, a lot can go wrong between now and April, so with this in mind, and should I take the chance my money would be on Spillane’s Tower 33/1. It didn’t run much last season but given the right ground conditions I see this as one to follow for the 2026 season.

Well.....surprise surprise....Epictetus, the one I called a carthorse actually came 3rd at Goodwood...I saw the replay video
It looked at first as if he might actually be good enough to win but then his old carthorse ways kicked in and he could only make 3rd
That said with Billy onboard he was better than before and he has another chance to prove his worth later at Ascot next month.
I think I know someone who might have had a little e/way bet ...At least they will have made a small profit

Still chasing the dream Pompey…I had £8-win £2 place which at 16/1 returned £10…things are looking up

Looking forward to a couple of runners Saturday.

Don't do it OL. It's a con. I sent half a crown and they returned it. They said it's not proper money, Foxy doesn't have an account and, get this, he's not even Nigerian.

Thanks for looking out for my best interests Sir Merv  …I’ve dumped Foxy for a more long-standing friend like you! :D

Rest assured, I wasn’t taken in by Foxy’s overseas offer…as I don’t trust anyone north of Barrow-in-Furness.

Take no notice of him OL. He's trashing my good character because I wouldn't give him a cut of my earnings.
I can't believe you would think I would take advantage of a good friend.

I am a little confused as to why an "anti royalist" partakes in the sport of "Kings" :? :?

Because without us commoners the Sport of Kings wouldn’t exist. But in reality, the only real difference is that the commoners have to pay to go racing whereas the freeloaders get in free.

If Rachel from accounts increases taxes on gambling in the budgetc, he might have to rethink where he spends his surplus pension.

You don't pay when you're the one putting on the entertainment. I suspect OL is a secret Royalist but just doesn't like to admit it.
Would it not be more appropriate for a Republican to support whippet or ferret racing rather than joining the toffs doing the donkey walloping? ;)

OL has sadly taken in by MeMe, but of course she's not Royal any more, and is about as reliable as his tipsters.

However I'm reliably informed by Debrett's that he is actually 28,908,445th in line for the throne so he is a closet Monarchist.

People have had their tongue cut out for less …. think yourself lucky because there was a time when Kings had their servants’ balls cut off to make them more subservient…but then you Royalists love bowing to your King and   Queen so there's no need for those drastic measures these days

Yes’, thank Gawd the lovely Meghan got out of it, but hey! you’ve still got Sarah keeping up the good name of everything it is to be Royal. :D

He kept that quiet but he must be moving up the list ahead of Hazza and MeAgain and in front of the disgraced Andrew and Fergie. Not surprised he takes such a keen interest whilst doffing his top hat in the royal enclosure. I hear the King and Queen are regular visitors to Shropshire...........

Betfred will be pleased…

Here are my Saturday bankers :) & these are my comments ;)

Ripon 2.50 Illusionist £8 win £2 place not keen on the jockey and I think he'll get a place not sure if he can win

3.25 Fortamour £5 win had at least one 1st every year raced...due to have one this year hoping its now...good price

4.0 Eldeyaar £5 win Donald won't be happy about you not supporting Mrs Trump who won her last two races

Haydock
2.40 Trilby £5 win
So I thought I'd place a bet win only on an unraced 2 yr old in the 17:20 at Newmarket
I was a bit surprised it was as low as 9/2....it's Golden Orbit
As to why I backed it.....check out the owners

Pleased to see Portsmouth going for quality over quantity - thoroughbred over agricultural neddies :D
